Be careful preparing your Scottoiler

I wanted to change the position of the Scottoiler that was already installed when I purchased the bike. Ordered a few parts from SBS as I knew they would arrive quickly, and so they did. All went fine with the new install until I set out to prime the unit. Normally I use the prescribed method of squeezing in some oil from the bottle and then using the same bottle to pump in air to get the oil moving down to the outlet. I have arthritic thumbs, so squeezing is awkward and painful. Then I had a flash of inspiration, why not use my foot-pump. I will tell you why not - On pump three I blew the system apart and the bike and me got covered in oil. However, an indication of the quality of the Scottoiler equipment, I was able to clean everything up and it was as good as new. I reassembled the parts, primed it, very carefully, and it now works perfectly. So, with the spares from SBS, and minus the foot-pump, my chain is back in safe hands. These oilers considerably increase the life of the chain and sprockets and are well worth considering.

Scottoiler Straight Connectors
The straight connectors from Scottoiler are there so that if you've got a Scottoiler connected to a vacuum pipe, and you want to remove it (if you're upgrading to an eSystem for example), then you can put the bike vacuum pipes back to standard with this simple straight connector. A straight connector can also be used to connect the Delivery Tubing, in case you need to extend it.
