I recently purchased the Shark Spartan GT Pro Carbon – Gloss Black motorcycle helmet from Sports Bike Shop, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best online shopping experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I began looking into the product, right through to receiving and trying it on, the level of service and quality has been absolutely exceptional.
What really stood out straight away was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. I had a few questions about the fit and features of the helmet, so I gave their customer service team a call. The person I spoke with was incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure I had all the information I needed. They took the time to explain the differences between models, helped me with the sizing chart, and even gave practical advice based on rider experience and helmet fitment. It was clear they weren’t just there to make a sale – they genuinely wanted me to be happy and safe with my purchase. That kind of honest, supportive customer care is rare these days and truly appreciated.
When the helmet arrived, it exceeded my expectations. The Shark Spartan GT Pro Carbon is absolutely stunning in the gloss black finish – it has a sleek, aggressive look that feels premium and purposeful. The carbon construction makes it surprisingly lightweight without compromising on protection or structure. The build quality is flawless, with every detail feeling thoughtfully engineered. You can really tell this is a high-spec lid designed for serious riders.
As soon as I put the helmet on, I could feel the difference. The fit was perfect – snug but not tight, and incredibly comfortable around the head and neck. The internal lining feels soft and plush, while still providing firm support. After wearing it for a few longer rides, I’ve had zero discomfort or pressure points, which is rare for a new helmet. The visor system is fantastic – smooth to operate, seals tight with no rattling, and the wide field of vision really boosts confidence while on the road. The integrated sun visor is also a brilliant touch and very easy to use even with gloves on.
Ventilation is another area where this helmet shines. The airflow is excellent, keeping the head cool and fresh even during warmer rides. It’s quiet too – aerodynamically sound and with very little wind noise, which makes a huge difference on long journeys. Overall, it’s clear that the Shark Spartan GT Pro Carbon is not just about looks – it delivers performance, comfort, and safety in equal measure.
To sum up, I am absolutely delighted with both the helmet and the service I received from Sports Bike Shop. They’ve earned my trust, and I won’t hesitate to use them again in the future. Whether you’re a new rider or an experienced motorcyclist looking to upgrade, I would highly recommend both this helmet and this retailer. In a world where online purchases can sometimes feel impersonal, Sports Bike Shop provided a refreshingly human, helpful, and professional experience that genuinely made a difference.
I like the fit of Shark helmets and this is my 3rd. Great wide visor, quality interior and great fit. Nice and light and works well across both bikes I have. Only thing I don’t like is where shark place their operation for the internal sun visor
Nice helmet in this particular design but issue with wind noise on one side. Only gripe is wind noise through the visor on the left side above eyebrow area. Everytime I put the visor down from it being up I get a squeal on one side and have to press the visor into the helmet to stop it / to make the seal tighter which is poor from a new helmet.
This has replaced my Shoei GT Air which was damaged in an accident and I was shocked at the price of a new Shoei GT Air 3. I arrived at this Shark helmet and for me the fit is just as comfortable as the Shoei plus it is lighter and has the same features. The build quality I feel is very impressive at this price point. I wear ear plugs all the time and feel this Shark is quieter than both my Shoei and Arai helmets. The ease of opening and closing the ventilation is faultless. The drop down visor is smooth in operation and you can leave the inner visor in any position. Both visors seem to me to be optically perfect and the pinlock included is a nice touch. It has a very snug neck cuff which seems to keep the draughts and wind noise out and also is removable which I like. Perfect for allowing a bit more ventilation on hot days/holidays. The only thing I have had an issue with is that the slider for the drop down visor is operated from the top of the helmet and not the side, not in itself any problem I just have to get used to it. An excellent purchase from Sportsbike Shop and feel it was a bargain with £100 off.
I really like shark helmet suits my shape head and I wear glasses and shark aways takes those into account
Great helmet even at high speeds super comfy would defo recommend for anyone looking to buy.
The helmet met my requirements in terms of specs. But every helmet comes with 35mm cheek pads, which are only suitable if you’re a desiccated corpse. Shark then have the audacity to charge FOURTY pounds for slimmer cheek pads, which arai or shoei will give for free. This is a massive con. As the helmet interior was being removed to fit intercom, noticed the emergecy release breath guard was already torn from factory. Then as I got further in, found 1 of the 2 clips holding the main liner had shattered. SBS were intermediary between me and shark who claimed they had no spare parts to fix it!! What a joke. SBS organised a collection and swap for a replacement which I received and immediately noticed that the visor mechanism (unlike the first) was so stiff it didn’t comfortably retract. So again it had to be refused.
Shark’s quality control is non-existent or lazy, and customer service insufficient for a manufacturer of a product which is designed to save your life.
I will NEVER buy a Shark product again, and neither should you.
Wery well fit. Design for summer- wery efficient ventilation. On top of that- no matter how tight I adjust the visor plates, when riding and turning head - wind is blowing to inside between the visor and the shell. In Scottish weather, on 16 C degree, can't open the top vents, as wind blowing - my old HJC barely get the air though compared to this one. Efficient pinlock included (120 grade). Need to get used to a D-lock..
As it meant to be a touring helmet, it's too drafty. But very light and comfy. For the price on sale I am happy with it
Cheekpads dont stay in place. 3 months old, SportsBikeShop wont assist saying need to send back to manufacture. First time ive felt let down by SBS
This is the first Shark lid I've purchased from SBS (though I have worn a few over the years) and I must say I'm very impressed. The venting is ample, it's a lovely snug fit and feels very premium indeed. The lining is a bit fiddly to remove but once you get the hang of it, no issues. Again, great service from SBS as usual - they allowed me to reserve 4 helmets to try on in store before purchasing this one, AND it was on offer! Well worth a look.
Blocks out most noise and wind, fits rather snug when you first put it on and take it off but a few times wearing it, it’s a better, smoother motion. The visor clips shut but I’m used to lifting up the visor on my other shark helmet so it felt a bit closed in but for the time being, I pull it right down so it’s not clipped and it stays shut but that’ll come with practice. Comes with a pinlock insert and it’s easy to remove the visor and put on. Padding inside is easy to remove to fit a Cardo unit into. Highly recommend this.
I loved the look and quality of this helmet. Despite buying an XL, however, the cheek pads were way too tight. Sportsbikeshop were excellent, as always, and exchanged the 30mm standard pads for the smallest (25mm) ones. These were better, but still a bit tight. Knowing from past experience that helmets bed in, I decided to wear the helmet around the house for a while before deciding the helmet would be OK. So, I wore it for a three-hour ride into Wales. Unfortunately, the cheek pads pressed too hard into my cheeks and the top of my left ear began to hurt. I put the virtually brand new helmet on eBay and lost about half of the cost in the sale. I learnt a lesson: unless the helmet fits you perfectly, send it back. I have realised I definitely have a Shoei-shaped head and will be looking there next. I must emphasise that Sportsbikeshop were never anything less than excellent. This mistake was obviously mine alone.
Comfortable helmet, good padding. Not quite as nice as the plain black carbon which has better cheek pads, a softer suede/alcantara material. But has all the Cardo pre-moulds, pin lock included. Looks good, feels great. Can’t fault it really.
Arrived in very good time. Well packaged and was a good price. The helmet is good quality and even came with a pinlock. No issues with delivery. Would definitely use Sportsbikeshop again with no hesitation.
As always the prompt service by Sportsbikeshop both in branch and online is second to none.
The Shark Spartan is a very good helmet. Obviously well put together. The visor moves smoothly all can be a little fiddly to open on the move. Unlike previous sun visors I've had where the "geared" lever can make precise positioning awkward the Spartan is very easy to operate. It's a quiet helmet and I've had a Schuberth in the past so I know what that means.
Really comfortable with good ventilation. Visor is easy to detach and attach. I have worn this in high temperatures and you can remove either one or both chin skirts and the visor can be left in any position. No leaks in torrential rain. Fits a clip type comms fitting and therefore do not need a propriety comms unit and plenty of room for 45mm speakers.
Top vent can be a bit noisy depending on screen position.
Good fit for me, comparable to a Shoei GT Air and my X-lite 702 GT ultra carbon.
Pros: ECE 22.06, Variable Position Visor, smooth Sun Visor operation, Plush Interior, quiet on my Tiger, Sensible Price.
Cons: Top Vent and Visor Lock release fiddly with gloves, right now compatible Shark Integrated Intercom not available.
Why would you not buy at SBS with their generous try on & return policy and helpful staff.
Very good, fog free, comfortable however sunvisor had a little fogging but not too bad..looks and feels great..great service from sportsbike shop as always..
