Reviews Oxford’s cargo-style denim riding jeans deliver discreet looks, stretchy comfort and solid protection for everyday rides
Customers generally find these trousers well-made and comfortable, appreciating their smart appearance and suitability for office wear. They fit true to size, although some suggest sizing down for a more snug fit. The material is durable but lacks flexibility, with the standard knee and hip armor often considered bulky and intrusive. Many customers opt to replace the armor with lighter alternatives for added comfort. Overall, they provide good protection and are valued for the price, receiving high recommendations.
They arrived the day before a six day tour of Southern Ireland I wore them every day warm comfortable with all the armour fitted and pretty showerproof love them
These are a little tight around the legs. They are warmer to wear in hot weather than my leathers and so was very disappointed. The knee armour after a while digs into the flesh above the knee cap resulting in my legs being sore for several days afterwards (123 miles with a break). This appears to be a common issue.
The armour needs to be longer above the knee cap. The area about the hips was to tight for comfort with any armour in place. Resulting in it being left out. It defeats the whole point of using these types of jeans.
A bit bulkier than I was expecting (compared to denim style jeans), but still good. Passable in a business-casual office, maybe not client facing.
Could actually pass as chinos. Thick material. Armour fits well.
Make sure you clean your jacket, as the light colour marks easily. But I am sure they will weather in.
Great for the meeting straight off the bike.
It came with knee and hip protectors, which was nice. The size was ok, I personally feel it is a tiny bit bigger than the actual size. Very comfortable to wear, good quality trousers. I haven't tested it in rain, but it looks good enough to repel any water. Not too think nor uncomfortable to wear, it might be a bit warm in summer. Happy to purchase it again.
They are slightly large for the size which suits me as I want to be able to move easily on my bike. But for the money and quality they are excellent.
Bought these as a better summer trouser than my roadskin jeans and this was a good choice. Whilst these are only AA (road skin are AAA) that’s good enough for how I ride. They’re reasonably cool during summer but the lighter colour shows the flies. I wouldn’t recommend these during wet/winter rides.
They do look good off the bike. The hip protectors are quite large but I find that quite reassuring.
Simply a fashionable pair of jeans for riding. Something you can ride with then go somewhere after and look smart. Really good quality and armoured in all the right places. Price at Sportsbikeshop could not be beaten. I liked them so much I went back a few days later and purchased a 2nd pair. On another note the staff at the Preston store could not have been more helpful. Thank you.
The jeans themselves are sturdy, look good, very comfortable, and passable as chinos though not truly smart office attire. I'm 1.89m and length fits well off the bike but come up short while riding, so I expected the standard yellow non flexible knee armour to not fit (it doesn't). The hip armour is massive almost dinner plate sized and not flexible - so I don't use either - the armour pockets themselves also a bit tricky to keep alternative armour in place. That said, can't ignore great value at £90 - potential to be great if the hip armour was usable.
I ordered 40” waist with medium leg I am 5’9” and heavy build, the chinos fitted me well with the armour in the right places, the material is quite heavy duty despite being advertised as lightweight so not for those really hot days but perfect for spring and autumn. They look smart on and would be perfectly acceptable in the office. The colour is as shown on the internet, a sort of sand colour, certainly a nice change from blue or black.
I am very pleased with the chinos.
Definitely buy a size smaller with these jeans.
Comfortable but quite heavy
Pleased with them
The jeans are very comfortable and have a relaxed fit in the waist, which is nice for added comfort. They fit well in the leg, providing a good overall look. However, the protective pads are quite thick, it might be worth considering a more flexible option for increased mobility.
Good jean, the material is quality and very good for the price.
Add D30 Ghost armour and you could where them all day.
If you want a smart look, drop a size. For me, the black was a weird finish/look that just work well enough to use in the office straight after a ride. they may work if you want the weekend cafe racer.
Comfortable and good quality. Not too heavy or hot, but offers good protection. Hip and knee pads easy to put in and take out
These are well made and comfortable but a bit too heavy to pass as Chinos. They are lighter than a touring suit and suitable for days when you're on and off the bike but not office attire.
Bought these as a change from blue denims. They look good and smarter than the blue jeans. Quality is good and the size generous. I'm a 34, but could have got into a 32. The size 34 gives a bit more room and more relaxed fit. If you want to wear them to the office you might want to think about slimmer armour. Very comfortable and would recommend.
