Alpinestars Copper V3 Denim Jeans - Black Rinse

I replaced my old Copper V2 with the new V3, purchased on a great bargain from SBS — and for £150, it was absolutely worth it. At this price point, I’m satisfied.
What I liked
• Much more comfortable than the V2.
• Looser fit, especially around the thighs, but without becoming baggy.
• I can now pull the leg over my sneaker, which wasn’t possible with the V2.
• Despite both being size 38, the V3 is more forgiving and less tight.
• Colour retention is excellent — the black stays properly black.
• Bigger, more practical pockets.
• Comfortable belt loops.
• Adjustable knee protector — finally.
• Softer material, more pleasant to wear.
What I didn’t like
• The new knee protector feels like a downgrade. It creases, folds and feels cheap. I swapped it back to the V2 protector, which is far more comfortable.
• The inner lining clearly shows cost-cutting. The V2 had a full inner layer; the V3 uses a fragile mesh that easily catches your foot when putting the jeans on.
• The inner material is less comfortable overall — brands like REV’IT do this part better.
• Although I’m a standard size 38, the V3 looks a bit like “Cossack pants” when walking. On the bike it’s fine, but off the bike the V2 looked better.
Conclusion
For the £150 bargain price, the V3 is a good buy with several improvements in comfort.
However, at full retail price I would personally choose the REV’IT Philly instead, as it offers a more refined inner lining and overall better comfort.
