If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Was dubious about purchasing this jacket, I have not been disappointed love the air flow and knowing I have the armour.
So versatile, can be worn under a waterproof jacket or soft shell.
100% recommended.
After quite a lot of research and finding out what others think of this jacket, and looking and trying alternatives, I finally decided on the Revit Nucleus jacket. And I'm happy to say that it suits me perfectly. It is a quality garment and feels very well out together. The sleeves are a good length, given I've got arms like an orange utan. There are thumb loops which I don't use. One thing to look out for is that the sleeves around the wrist are constructed of a non stretchy material. I'm guessing the idea is to keep the sleeves from riding up in the event of a crash and a slide down the road. This means that if you have large hands, you might struggle to get your hands through the wrist hole. Not an issue for me, by something to look out for. I compared it to the Knox alternatives, and preferred the heavier weigh feel of the Revit. It is perhaps not quite as vented as the Knox stuff, but that's not a problem for me. This has chest and rib armour which Knox didn't have, at least not as standard. I have a friend who busted ribs in an accident when he landed on the road, and his elbow impacted his ribs. Hopefully this won't happen with this jacket. It is designed to be worn over a base layer and because it's rated for abrasion resistance, you can wear what you like over it and still be protected. The price is also very right! All in all, I'm very happy with it and can recommend it as an option for a quality vented jacket.
Apart from the amazing fit and feel the protection and abrasion resistance was key point for me! the plus is you look like the coolest guy on the trail routes with it on
A great alternative for those rides when I don't won't to be in full leathers. Fits nicely under summer jacket or hoody. Feels substantial enough to give confidence in protection yet so comfortable you forget you've got it on. Also a nice extra layer on colder rides.
I deliberated for months on whether I should get a mesh jacket but decided on the Revit due to the versatility of it.
I can see the jacket being put to use as a standalone piece for a ride to Nice on a road bike as well as an alternative to my Forcefield body armour and lightweight jacket when riding green lane in summer.
Really impressed with the construction and solid feeling of the jacket. It does look and feel fit for purpose.
It was a toss up between this and either the Knox Urbane Pro or Honister jackets. The Revit won because it feel bang in the middle of functionality and protection between the two Knox jackets. Pleased with this purchase
Bought this to wear as a base layer with any clothing over the top or as warm weather jacket. Feels really comfortable and keeps the armour close. I'm 44 chest and normally XL in Revit. XL fits true to size and is a snug fit which you want for the amour to be held in place, but not uncomfortable. I've worn a triumph jacket over it and a casual padded shirt. Really versatile and comfortable. I would wear base layers as skin in direct contact feels ok but abrasion resistant sections are tough, but well perforated.
I chose this over the Knox Urbane for the additional chest protection. Feels really great on.
