If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
I've only worn Dainese gear so it's hard to not be bias or make a comparison to other brands. So far not been disappointed when it comes down to build quality be it jackets, trousers or gloves.
Fits true to size. I'm 5'7 and on the skinnier side, and the small (48) fits me perfectly.
The mugello fabric feels good, and make these trousers comfortable on and off the bike. I'd even wear them over jeans while walking around town.
There are no hip protectors, but has mesh inserts for if you do get them. The composite armor for the knee goes down to the shin, which is a welcome for me as the ones on my older trousers only cover the knee. They're positioned well, don't feel or bulky and intrusive.
I've not fully utilized the absoluteshell removable liner, but I'd reckon it will hold up and keep me dry.
