Adventure lids are the perfect foil for adventure bikes. Here are our five biggest-hitting options...
Bought this for my partner who is notoriously picky when it comes to helmets.....I was fully expecting to have to return this but she loves it and it fits perfectly. A great looking piece of kit, brilliantly priced and accurate sizing.
Great design and as light as can be expected the price point. Bell helmets never let me down, they fit my head perfectly so I always feel confident purchasing online. Really competitively priced.
I bought the similar helmet around 6+ years ago so I figured it was time to buy a fresh helmet.
The fit on the new one is a little more snug and apart from that I'm expecting the same quality protection.
Great fit. Nice and roomy with fantastic visibility. Can be used with peak or without. Can also be used with visor only, goggles only, or both together, great for on the trails when with road sections between.
Venting is good but it's noisy as hell. Not an issue if you're bumbling around but awful on fast roads.
Love the colours, with plenty more to choose from at the same price as the plain helmets. Its a comfortable fit without the padding pressing in at any single point. Not the most feature rich helmet, but everything needed at this price point and the quality is good.
Fits perfect and does not fog up, very stylish helmet and a great range of colours. Very quick delivery.
Bought for my son in law’s birthday, he said it was so nice, was a perfect fit and such good quality.
As SBS had a no brainer offer on I thought I'd give it a try to see if the peak was effective against the low winter sun. Not too successful I'm afraid. However, last time I tried a Bell on my oval head (I dunno. 15 years ago maybe?) it was completely the wrong shape. Encouraged by another review here I tried again and this one is a super fit on my oval, better than my Arais. OK, its a bit heavy, 1600g without the peak but it feels good, doesn't move about (without the peak of course) and the visor is fantastic, very chunky and optically perfect working fine with my polaroid specs. Talking of specs, it does a better job of locating my glasse than either Shoei or Arai manage. I think I might be a convert.
Bought this helmet for the colder mths of the yr, &when on travel adventure on my 701enduro, I already on the Bell mx 9 off rd helmet for greenlaning, have been pleased with that, but the joy of having a visor in colder mths is better than a wet cold face of a goggled mx helmet, usual sportsbike shop delivery times and prices.
I picked up this helmet in the sale and for the price its very good. Bell has a long standing reputation in the helmet market so I guess they know their stuff.
The lining is one of the most uncomplicated to remove that I've come across. The helmet feels heavy in your hands but ok when fitted. I wanted an adventure helmet but knew I wouldn't wear it often over my other helmet so didn't want to spend big bucks. This ticks all the boxes. Snug & comfy and seems to be very good quality.
Quality of the product is very good for the price, unfortunately not used yet
So pleased with this purchase when I unboxed it, great colour combo, excellent quality and comfort. Perhaps a little joist at speed but this is my first touring helmet, usually wearing full face. Would definitely recommend and never seen another!
Can't fault the service from SPORTSBIKESHOP.CO.UK. Helmet delivered as scheduled and at a great price, lowest I could find for the same helmet. The helmet is surprisingly light for the size, a comfy fit and looks stylish. Fogging hasn't been an issue. A step from my Bell Moto 3 I raced in during the early 1980s.
It fits my oval head very well
It feels good quality for the price
It's got recess for speakers
I should preface by saying that I've always been plagued by visor fogging to a seemingly abnormal degree.
This is a great lid, I imagine, if the weather is warm and can be expected to stay that way.
I purchased hoping that the extra space behind the chinbar in an adventure/off-road-focused lid would help alleviate the frequent fogging issues I tend to have. Other reviews were also encouraging in saying Bell's inegrated antifog was quite good.
Unfortunately, I've found if below around 5 degrees C in any remotely damp weather, rather than fogging up, the visor seems to accumulate a film of fine water droplets that are just as bad for obstructing vision and MUCH harder to clear by opening the visor for a bit than normal fogging. The free-flowing nature of the helmet also, rather than helping clear out damp air, just keeps the inside freezing cold, being both uncomfortable and helping to chill the inside surface of the visor so moisture can build up more readily.
This happens so rapidly (within minutes) that the helmet is nigh-on unusuable in adverse weather. Not really ideal for an "adventure" helmet when the weather can easily turn a bit cold and damp most of the year in Britain.
Add to it, a replacement Pinlock-compatible visor (admittedly, with a Pinlock fitted) is currently just over half the cost of this helmet again at £110! You'd be better off springing for a second lid for poorer weather!
I bought this on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The helmet is comfortable, fits well and isn't as noisy as I had expected but the main thing for me as a rider who wears glasses is the fact that the ventilation is spot on! My glasses or the visor does not mist up when the visor is closed….and it doesn't even have a pinlock. If you're looking for an adventure helmet for a great price then look no further.
Great helmet, good value for money, well reviewed, stylish and comfortable.
Wanted an adventure helmet for an upcoming trip but didn't want to spend a fortune. If you wear spectacle or sunglasses the MX9 MIPS ECE 22.06 is the model to buy. Great quality inside & out. Can't fault it for the price.
