You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Bought this as I found my LS2 Vector helmet restricted my vision too much, I'd need to practically touch my chin to my chest to see the dash. Not so with this where the vertical visibility is excellent. Out of the box I had to re-glue the rubber gasket around the visor as it was coming unstuck, but it's held up since then. Only negative really is it's really loud at anything above 30mph, ear defenders are essential.
Purchased a large in white. Fits really well. have tried it with and without chin guard and it works perfectly well. Not the quietest of helmets but I've had worse. It actually is a decent helmet and for the price I can't grumble. Would I consider buying it again - yes I would. I have fitted the Cardo Pack Talk Bold which was a bit of a fiddle (but it always is) the recess for the speakers was a very tight fit and I had to enlarge them slightly but all fitted now and works well. The ventilation is good, I can actually feel the air passing over my head inside the helmet when I open the vent fully. It's a thumbs up for the N40-5 GT
Last helmet was a shoei but this seems just as light and comfortable.
I've not been on scooter yet so can say how wind noise is.
Great visibility. Like open face but with more protection.
22.06 rated so new kid on the block.
Only thing is I find it uncomfortable putting on or off, makes my ears angry. But it's fine without front piece fitted, wich you can then quite easily fit when it's on your noodle. (might want to practice that one first before attempting outside the all girls volleyball bar).
Doesn't come with pinlock but has the lugs to fit one.
Recommended.
This is exactly what I was hoping for absolutely spot on fit is as stated and comfortable, I'm a fan of the clip of front having previously owned an N series before
The Nolan N40-5GT is amazing!
Lightweight and robust, it has so many innovative features, it's the Swiss Army Knife of lids!
I've worn it open face with the peak off road…. With the chin guard riding all the English and Welsh coastline…. With the visor down in torrential rain with the pinlock working amazingly well…. With the visor and peak off but inner visor down on a moped!
The Nolan comms kit works incredibly well and its slim profile makes it a winner over other bolt on models.
Vents are fantastic and when used with the visor allow for a super cooling effect bringing instant relief to the user.
The clasp is solid and easily adjustable, and the liner removable and easily washed.
Overall, 11/10
