Oxford Aquatex Bike Cover
Customer Product Reviews
Bought this to protect my Suzuki GT500 while the garage was being re-roofed. As Ride Magazine recommended it and it was a good price I ordered a medium. Arrived 2 days later as is usual with SBS and fits perfectly like it was made to measure. Very pleased.
Very good cover for the price, especially when on offer. A medium fits my Tracer 900 perfectly with small pack strapped on the back seat. Seems to do the job very well and actually looks quite good too. It's quite thin so we'll have to see how it lasts.
Perfect cover, good price
Needed a cover for CG125 with top box. Got the medium size and it's a good fit. Elasticated front and rear, with a strap in the middle which is really useful as it balloons on a windy day. Never lifts enough to allow bike to get wet though. Might only last a year or two of Scottish weather, but for the price I paid it's worth it. Would buy another when this one is worn out.
Lightweight and effective
Fits my V-Strom 650 perfectly with a top box. It's lightweight and packs up relatively small. Keeps the bulk of the rain off during the day whilst I'm at work. My only gripe is that the opening for the chain is only at the front, and I tend to chain my back wheel to the street furniture.
Good quality, great value
Cheap and cheerful. Works great and is light enough to fold and bring along, e.g. under a bungee net on the pillion seat. I'd recommend a size bigger if your bike's measurements are spot-on for a size and especially if you have a top-box. Bought first according to size, it lasted surprisingly long (3+ years), but it was tight. Could hardly get it on with the top-box attached. Bought second a size bigger and it covers the bike totally, all the way to the floor. Putting on and off is much easier, too. My bike stays outside, unfortunately. With heavy rain there a some damp spots underneath, but not sure if that's leaking or just condensation - looks solid from outside. Worth recommending, especially for the price
This is the 3rd or 4th Aquatex cover I've had over the years and over many different bikes. They are good quality for the price and tend to last a couple of years on average. I bought this one to go over my new Kawasaki Versys 650 and so I can keep the top box on. The size Large is plenty big enough and covers the whole bike completely down to the ground. You might be able to get a Medium if you want a tighter fit. The only annoying feature is the clip underneath which is fiddly to get to and the last thing you want to be doing is getting down on your knees to reach it in the wet! I wish Oxford would make it longer or move the straps to the front and back like I've seen on some others. The little strap is usually the first thing to break on these anyway so I usually end up securing it with a bungee over the top. After that rips do start to appear gradually but like I said that's not until after at least 2 winters. Before that, it's a really good product and they don't leak. It comes with a carry case but I'm yet to meet anyone who can repack it in there after the first use! Overall It's a good quality product from Oxford as usual, no leaks and despite what they say, you can throw it over a hot bike! It's lifespan will depend on how well you treat it as with anything. Great service from SBS as always, thanks again!
