Kriega R30 Back Pack
Customer Product Reviews
Comfiest rucksack ever
Yes it's pricey, but well worth the money! It's completely waterproof in the main compartment, and the comfiest rucksack ever. Usually I'd have some shoulder aches at the end of a long trip due to having a backpack on.... with this, I had a heavy chain and a full pack, and forgot I was even wearing it. Really easy to get on and off with full kit on Would recommend to anyone.
Kriega make good kit, this bag is really well made. Easy to put on while wearing full gear and the quadloc system is awesome. Also the main compartment is fully waterproof which helps when you need a change of clothes that's dry. Its a large bag but a couple of times I've forgot I had it on because there's no weight on your back due to the harness system. Brilliant, despite being quite a few quid I'd buy another.
I've yet to test the waterproof capability of this bag however comfort and ease of use is brilliant. It's amazing the amount you can fit in this bag and with the roll over top no need to worry about a zip bursting. Yes it is pricey but seems to be extremely good quality also.
Well thought out
Great backpack. Many well considered features and lovely quality. Slightly shy of the full five stars because it does seem heavy and the straps, although very comfortable, are extremely large so air flow in hot weather is noticeably restricted. I don't imagine that will be an issue much of the time in the UK though!
Great Commuter Bag
I commute 100 mile round trip each day, all year round so I needed a backpack that was comfortable and absolutely water proof. I have been using this bag for a couple of weeks now and during torrential rain storms. This bag is great, in the main waterproof part I can fit my 15" MacBook Pro, a small bag holding my rolled up work trousers (Office) and my work shoes, my lunchbag and a small accessory bag holding my laptop bits and bobs and still have a little space left. In 1 of 2 external pockets I keep a couple of cloths and gaffer tape and in the other I keep a small medical kit. These though not rated to be 100% waterproof have kept contents dry in the most severe wet weather. I was cynical about the quad lock, but it makes a world of difference and it makes it like you forget the backpack is on you. total recommend it, I also recommend the harness pocket accessory to keep your wallet and keys easily accessible when you leave / get home or when filling up at the station.
Looking for the best
I have been searching for a replacement for my previous one which got melted by the exhaust so a lot of expectation here. The ten year warranty gave me the confidence to buy and looking how it is made seems like it will live up to the sales details.
Most effective backpack I've used
I've owned a few backpacks and treated myself to this Kriega after my Knox fell apart. The difference is astonishing. The weight in the Kriega is held so differently on your body, it is not tiresome after a long ride (370 miles). The next day there are no aches or pains and I'm ready to carry the same weight again. The straps, once set, don't require adjustment. It just works and is clearly the most effective backpack I've used. There is no compromise with price. You get what you pay for. If you want a cheap backpack, buy one and you'll feel it every time you use it. The Kriega means a two week trip with no aching shoulders.
I am a new rider and I was recommended this product by a seasoned biker of many years. I have issues with my back now and again and so ideally I didn't want anything that would exasperated things. Well this bag is perfect as no weight is on the shoulders and back, instead it is transferred to the front. That and the fact the main 30 litre pouch is waterproof justifies every penny of the price tag. Love it.
Superb piece of kit
I had heard a lot of good things about Kriega quality and did a lot of research before I bought this backpack. I was not disappointed, the quality is exceptional and you hardly notice you are wearing this on your back (even when fully packed). OK, so it's not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. Highly recommend .. five stars all round!
Really good, hides weight well
This bag gets a lot of excellent reviews, and is very pricey for a backpack. I bought it off the back of recommendations from friends, and I wasn't disappointed. The bag itself is a bit on the weighty side for a backpack (I think it's about 1kg), and so I was worried that would be an issue. However, filled up with a 15 inch MacBook and accessories, a change of clothes, toiletries, and other assorted kit, there's room to spare and I really don't notice the weight whilst on the move. Three hours on the bike, with that kit, would have killed my shoulders and back with my old, cheap backpack. No such issue with the Kriega R30. I found the instructions on adjusting the straps a bit confusing, but got there eventually and I won't need to adjust them again. Overall, I'm really happy with it and if you're going to be doing any serious time on the bike with kit, it's well worth the money.
