If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Perfect, well priced.
Level 2 and certified for use in lower and higher temperatures.
Good type B armour that covers much more of the knee and also the shin.
Fits in my BULL-IT jeans and rst track leathers.
Only negative, not vented.
Bought to replace the level one armour in a set of Hein Gerike leathers and these are a perfect direct fit for the shin/knee
Hello,
I bought these because my knee protectors would never stay in the right place in my RST textile trousers, they would be thigh protectors.
The now cover the whole of my knee and shin and are level 2 protection and therefore better than the initial product description on level 1.
Only grip is they are somewhat rounded and therefore when kneeling these have to be centred otherwise I feel you could roll your knee.
Nonetheless, this price for L2 as opposed to the other knee and shin L2 guard available at ~£40 odd - how can we complain?
Thanks as always SBS.
Excellent very key fits well just what I wanted
These protectors fitted my Rukka and Dainese trousers perfectly. But I wish this MicroLock 49 was a little thicker, which I feel is necessary for a higher level of protection. Other MicroLock protectors that are 20mm thick surpass CE Level 2; they're so soft and comfy that the thickness is unnoticeable. However, this MicroLock 49 armour is only 15mm thick and (first time round) only passed Level 1. Knox told me they were aiming to get it through the Level 2 test, but I'd be more reassured if it were thicker. MicroLock armour is so soft that a few mm difference in thickness is imperceptible. Thus, I use Rukka XTR armour (D30 and Level 2) in my Rukka pants. But I use this MicroLock in my Dainese trousers because regular Dainese armour gives lousy protection (judging by MotoCAP test results).
Fitted very well into my Draggin Jeans. Comfortable when on the bike and no digging in when walking about
As with all Knox products great piece of kit. Flexible, yet strong on impact.
Knox knee/shin protectors rescued my Dainese leather pants. The original Dainese armour in the pants was rubbing against my knees causing painful friction injury, but Knox protectors cured that problem. They have the same protective rating, so I did not have to compromise on safety. Highly recommended.
Bought to replace Dainese standard hard armour in my textile trousers, as they clashed with my boots.
The Knox armour has the same protective rating but is far more flexible when I'm on my Speed Triple. It's also much lighter!
Saving up to replace the rest of my hard armour.
I choose these knee pads because they were longer and would fit the calf area as well which they do. I needed a softer knee pad which would fit the pocket in my Daniese trousers so these were ideal. As always Sportsbike shop were the go to place because of their range, the ease of use of website, the ease of returns and the helpful reviews.
