Great to see mainstream mid priced brands like RST embracing layering principles to make a touring jacket that actually works well for touring. The waterproof and insulation components are separate garments (as they should be) so it's easy to adapt to different weather as you ride. No stupid zip in liners that encourage you to ride in the wrong gear because you can't be bothered changing them. The mid layer is warm and also light and packable. works as a casual jacket for the evening. The outer waterproof shell works in long periods of rain and keeps the jacket dry as well as the rider so when the rain stops you are not riding around in a soaking wet jacket. The jacket is a bit heavy and the armour is thick and inflexible so its not perfect but you would need to spend a lot more money to get a set up this good that was also really light.
