With such a highly regarded lock now secured for one end of the bike, and in possibly the best store, I decided I should consider the other.  The fluorescent MD1000 Disc Lock in its packaging, was slid from the display rack and placed on the counter.  Truly grateful to the staff for educating me, for the stock levels, and for seeing my bike will get the protection it deserves.
