Decent for the money
With a discount voucher, I got this unit for a decent price. Easy enough to fit, but my Africa Twin has an electrical accessory socket under the pillion seat so the power cable is too short. Unit itself works fine, boots up quickly, routing works well so all good - my only complaint is that it puts up traffic warnings when there's nothing there...Read more
Reasonable price for good quality Sat Nav
I paid £230 for the Garmin, which was really good value for a bike Sat Nav. I have a NC750X and fitting was easy enough, there was loads of cable length to run the wiring and the bracket provides a good movement range for finding the right position. Use of the device is simple and it loads, plans routes and re-calculates on the move quickly. I've only connected it to my Sena intercom so can't comment on the features that come with connecting it to your phone. All in I'm really happy.Read more
Good - but dated software
Having had the chance to play with unit for a couple of weeks I think I can say I'm happy with the device itself, but Basecamp and other associated software is pretty clunky, dated and hard to use. If you want it for navigating from A to B, it's ace. If you want to plan complex routes, be prepared for a few late nights swearing at your computer. Also, if you're a Mac person, the software is even worse on MacOS! However, I'd still recommend it as the unit is itself is a great standalone satnav with a robust mounting mechanism.Read more
