Leatt Helmets

Impressed with the fit and versatility of this helmet. However, within a couple of weeks the rubber trim under the mouthpiece split and started to come away from the helmet. The customer service at sportsbike shop was very helpful and quickly got a replacement to me. No issues with the replacement helmet.

Strong and supportive boots

I don’t think I have ever been so pleased with a jacket, over the years I must have had a jacket from most of the main brands, Alpinestars, Dainese, Held, Oxford etc and they have all been OK.

This however so much more than OK. It’s a laminate which means in the heavy rain is doesn’t absorb any water, unlike most jackets that have a waterproof layer and that means it doesn’t get heavy. It also means if your camping you can shake the water off and its dry in the morning, not the case with non laminate jackets where you can end up with a wet coat for days and wet means cold even if you are dry.

Adjustability around the waste and on the arms you can cinch it tight or loosen it up so if you have a bit of a belly no problem, or its cold and you need an extra layer also no problem just loosen it off. It means you get a perfect fit.
Its got a large vent on the back (The whole Back) which can be opened or closed and smaller vents on the chest. The jacket uses magnets to keep the vents open, as well as using them on the pockets to keep them closed and on the main zip cover to keep it closed. This makes everyday use of the jacket so much easier you really wont understand how good a design it is until you try it. Getting in and out of pockets is so easy you will never want to go back to Velcro.

The collar has a very soft feel and a nice tab to fold it back to one side for warmer weather. As the main zip cover uses magnets I have also found I can put the zip down quite easily on the move and zip it up and the cover just moves out the way or magnets back in place.

Cuffs… these are Velcro and allow for the cuff to go over gloves for winter riding but is also tight enough (If you want) to go under gloves if that’s your thing. I know some people like Velcro and a zip but the range of adjustment seems like they have made a good compromise here.

I’m 14st 7 and 5.11” tall and have a 44” chest and bought a bought the XL size. I did try the smaller size but it was just a little to snug. And as usual Sportbikeshop’s return policy meant it was easy to try multiple sizes. Due to the range of adjustment on the jacket it means it looks and is a great fitting jacket.

Downsides… The laminate is totally waterproof and windproof which means in hot weather it is warmer than a non laminate jacket so if its over 30 degrees it is quite warm but the vents do a good job.

So far I love this Jacket

It is a very good connection of comfort, protection and waterproofing. I can't fail this product, I used it in all sorts of conditions and apart of extreme hot weather, they are brilliant.

After completing a 4000-mile road trip with some mild trails, I was expecting better. In the first week of the trip, the peak rattled loose, resulting in the fixings flying off, followed by the peak. In the third week, the pin lock also decided to drop out; I tried to refit this with no luck, as it was all out of shape. Considering this is a very expensive adventure helmet I'm a bit disappointed.
