Stylish, hi-tech motorcycle clothing from Wolf
Very good looking jacket but watch the sizing
The jacket looks great. Armour feels secure. I was influenced too by the great Ride review. Its early days but so far has been waterproof in the rain and quite warm on cold early mornings. I am not that keen on the velcro cuff fastening though and sizing is where it loses a star. I usually wear small/medium, 38" chest. I had been concerned the medium sized jacket I ordered would be too big. However it is so tightly fitting it limits what you can wear under it which could be an issue in freezing conditions.Read more
Stylish kit and a good fit
Bought this to go with the excellent Wolf Tec Tour Trousers I have. The Wolf Tec Tour Jacket suffered with build quality and a tight fit on my 18" neck. This jacket is the polar opposite for build quality, excellent build, fit and some really good features. The neck could be too open for some but a buff fixes the draughty neck but it is perfect for me. Not best for the coldest weather as I did feel the cold at 4-5°C on my chest recently but only had single layer underneath. I love the fit and the style of the jacket is spot on for me.Read more
Try before you buy
Bought these with the jacket, based on reviews. Advice for jacket was go up a size and I did the same with these... they were massive so exchanged for a smaller pair. With the thermal liner in it was a squeeze to get them up my legs. Removed the lining and they are still very warm. Haven't worn them in a downpour yet, so nothing to say there. They come with a Velcro belt that goes through an opening then doubles back on itself. Clever design as long as the belt doesn't come free. I only got it back in after much grumbling. It has a weird but very secure fly zip. A sort of cod piece thing velcros down over the fly which I assume gives extra waterproof/wind protection. There pockets for hip armour are empty but accessible. The knee armour pockets have armour in them but are not accessible without cutting away the mesh lining. In other words you can remove the thermal and waterproof lining. You are then left with mesh lining which is not removable. However you can only access the knee armour by feeling through the mesh lining. As far as I can tell the knee armour is not adjustable. What it does, it seems to do very well. However it needs to fit properly for everything to work so I would recommend trying them on in a shop (if you can find one) or expect to have to use the excellent returns service at least once. **This is an update to a previous review as, you may have noticed, it rained** On two consecutive days I have ridden in fairly heavy rain for the first 10 minutes of riding, lessening to average rainfall for 20 minutes, lessening to very light rain or no rain for the last 10 minutes. As soon as I sat on the bike which had been on its side stand in the rain for around two minutes while I locked the garage, my backside went cold and then wet within minutes. By the time I arrived my knees were cold and damp but not wet. My keys in the cargo pocket on one leg were wet as were the coins in the other pocket, despite being buttoned down closed. After drying and putting on trousers I unzipped the waterproof lining and everything was wet. Therefore in summary and after removing the thermal lining, they are warm; knee armour can only be adjusted after finding a secret way in, down by the zipped openings down by the ankles (the brilliant staff at SBS now know where the openings are as it was they who found them!); as soon as it rains they let water in like a flannel. I will be using Sportsbikeshop s fabulous returns service for something that, hopefully, does what it says on the tin...Read more
