Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
I tried a few and happily the cheaper oxford suited me the best. I find it a little short at the front, but this works well when you’re actually on the bike. Armor is a little uncomfortable at first but does settle eventually, could easily be upgraded but I wouldn’t bother. I would say comfortable up to 30C degrees, after that only mesh would be cooler, but this is so much more versatile. Mine has the odd frayed stitch here and there, and a little hole in one of the armor pockets, hard to complain too much at this price point though. The zips feel a little rough to the touch but they work well enough. Overall very happy, looks just as good on a Vespa as it does on a Harley Davidson!
comfortable and given the level of protection, reasonably lightweight. Looks good and not like a bike jacket. Armour is actually pretty decent too, surprisingly lightweight and flexible. SBS were brilliant as always, ordered into the Glasgow store for me (as well as a bunch of other kit) and couldn't be more accommodating. Wouldn't buy my gear anywhere else.
Nice jacket that feels like a regular jacket rather than bike kit
Well I have spread the word about where I got the jacket and the process in buying it from Sportsbikeshop which was I ordered the wrong size at which I contacted Sportsbikeshop, they ordered the right size for me and exchanged it without a problem. I have ordered a few things from Sportsbikeshop they're my first go to great original products fantastic to deal with.
Tough and well made but lightweight making it ideal summertime riding kit.
Wears well on and off the bike.
A couple of times when putting it on, I've found myself with one hand in the armour pouch.
It's fairly hefty but looks very lightweight. Well stitched with pockets you can trust.
The tabs that tie through your belt loops are a very nice touch.
A lot more usable than leather.
I dropped a star for inside pocket being a bit flimsy and no spine protector and the neck stud being too tight for wearing neck scarf.
Fits well and looks great with good rated safety features.
Great lightweight jacket with proper safety. Keeps good temperature for the summer and fits perfectly.
This is a really cool jacket (in my opinion if not my partner's!). It's also a really cool jacket on a hot day when riding. The shoulder protectors need a little encouragement to stay in the right place, perhaps a stitch or two is in order. It feels great when on and I'd happily walk around in this when off the bike. The quality is good and to achieve AAA rating at this price point in a textile jacket is outstanding.
But - the instructions say No to machine washing or dry cleaning. Instead we're told to use a brush and a damp cloth. Hmmm... It would be good if the care instructions were put in the item description online. As for me, once it really is in need of a clean, I'll try a gentle handwash and see what happens.
