They are a good cut, not any bulk to them at all. Some knee protection but nothing for the hips.
Quite warm fabric considering they are light weight summer trousers.

I like that they are not really baggy like many riding pants. The armour is very flexible and should be comfortable. I ordered 1 size up from the sizing chart and they fit very well. I like the gray color. Was looking for something besides black but light grey is impractical. I think thiis a nice compromise. Heavier than I thought they would be so hopefully not too hot. Better if you hit the pavement though
