You wear waterproof kit, so why should your stuff get wet? These bags will save your bits and bats from a soaking
Used this on an MT-09. This is a compact motorcycle, and this bag was long enough to prevent me from fully using the saddle like I would. But, sadly, not long/wide enough to fit my 15” laptop in it! Another downside is that the rain cover is not big enough to cover the bag while it’s expanded.
On the plus side, it looks beautiful, and it worked flawlessly over my 4h journey. It’s rated for just 2 kg, I think, but it handled more than that just fine. I needed to carry a week’s worth of luggage without adding an ugly top box rack to my bike, and this bike allowed me to do just that! The Seatlock mechanism is much more convenient than having to bother with straps full of road grime in the dark while you’re thinking about how far away from your hotel’s toilet you are.
Givi should make a wider version of this bag and include an inner waterproof bag. That would make it perfect.
This bag is big enough for l long trip. I paired it with a 15 litre Givi Tanklock bag for a 10 day trip in Germany and there was plenty of capacity. There are a couple of niggles. The first one is that the rain cover doesn't cover the expanded bag, so all your stuff in the bottom half gets wet. The second is that the rucksack straps and pad go back in to their pocket when the bag is empty, but not when it's full, so you can't use them to carry the bag back to your bike after you've packed it Overall though, a great bag, just pack your clothes in an inner bag if you're using the full capacity.
