Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
There are not many AAA rated, stylish single layer motorbike jeans for lady bikers out there. These definitely tick all those boxes. They have a good stretch, lots of pockets and are top quality. They also fit perfectly on the waist without gaps. You also get Level 2 armour (instead of the usual level 1) included for knees + hips and it's so low profile that you hardly know it's there.
These are quite thick due to the rating, so if you are looking for thin summer jeans, these are not it!
I do however have 3 minor complaints about the Coyote cargo:
1) They come up very small. I'm a size 12UK in normal jeans. I usually buy a 14UK In motorbike jeans for comfort / layering but I had to get a 16UK in these to go over my legs and hips (I measure: waist 83cm. Hips 107cm).
2) They are not easy fit, the legs are skinny fit and very tight on the knees. The accordion on the knees does help with mobility / comfort.
3) The pockets for the hip armour are suspended and not sticked to the side of the jeans, they also don't close properly as there is no velcro (some double sided velcro mod should do it. As the armour is flexible, when you pull the jeans on, you have to constantly re adjust everything in place.
Overall happy with them.
The staff at Sportsbikeshop do get full stars from me , they are always patient, knowledgeable and very personable, I always receive a fantastic service and top advice anytime I stop by and I've been shopping there for many years.
I love the cargo pockets on these jeans, plus they fit nicely with no gapping at the back. I would recommend going up a size and I went for a shorter leg as I'm 5'5". The hip armour is great, doesn't make me look too wide and the knee armour works well. Would love it if they came in blue but the black is nice too.
Had to size up two sizes for these! I’m a size 8, had to go up to a size 12. Which I get, these things generally fit small but it was a bit of an inconvenience, and now they fit well around my legs and have loosened a bit but they’re super loose around my waist so a belt is needed. But again that may just be my dimensions so double check. They look absolutely fantastic though! Super warm esp in summer not gonna lie but I can’t complain. What I did do was replaced the level 1 hip and knee armour with D30, which made it a bit stiffer and a little more uncomfortable but that’s standard. No way of knowing how protective these will be in a crash unless I (god forbid) actually get in one but so far so good
Great casual jeans I can wear out. Protective gear that doesn't necessarily look like protective gear. Comfy but does run very small. I have had to buy them 2 jean sizes bigger than I usually buy to get a comfy fit. Apart from the label size, I can't complain. My go to jeans when I am going out for a ride to meet friends etc!
Good protection, food size hip protectors. Lots of pockets. I could have done up a size as they are not a relaxed fit, more like regular / straight, the zips at the bottom are really handy so can go over the boots. They look cool as well. Happy with my purchase.
I’ve worn these for a year now and they have worn in so perfectly. The subtle fading from being washed just makes them look so good on.
Had my eye on these for a while. Love that they had AA certification and the Level 1 armour can be levelled up. I’d compared them with Motogirl Lara pants which were also lovely looking but were A rated with Level 2 armour and I’d course you can’t level up abrasion rating. Very cute around the bum with the pockets and style giving a nice shape. Glad I went for these ones.
I had my eye on these online and was pleased when I tried them on that they were comfy and well fitting in the legs. In normal trousers I’m a 12 and have quite full legs and rear but with a smaller waist. Getting protective motorcycle trousers to fit is generally quite difficult. I’ve previously had to size up 2 times but I only went up 1 size in these. The armour sits comfortably exactly where it should, the material is comfortable for better weather rides. My only issue is that I have a gap at my lower back and had to get the trousers taken in to fit my body shape.
Really nice trousers, they fit well and are really comfortable. Spent a long time looking for jeans that actually fit properly and these are worth the money!
