Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Comfortable, and look good.
I'm 5ft 9in so ordered them in short, perfect for me. Lots of air vents for summer riding
I bought these trousers on a hot summer's day and had to wait 3 weeks until it rained. The fit was good, the length was not short as you sometimes find and my boots were covered fully. The ventilation flaps proved acceptable. The trousers were comfortable and to top it off, they were waterproof. The sales team at Sportsbikeshop were attentive and couldn't do too much to help. I will definitely be back when I need more kit.
I spent ages looking for a new pair of trousers, and couldn’t decide on whether another pair of jeans, or a different textile type. Visited the store in Leeds, tried on a few pairs and this was the one. Multiple pockets, great space and the trouser bottoms allow for unzipping to go over boots etc. Lining is great and so far the wind and water resistance is spot on! 10/10!
Good sizing and feels like good quality
Seems like a decent piece of kit, and better made than a previous RST pair of trousers I purchased. But, time will tell during use.
Very comfortable. Thermal lining easy to remove. So far have only been in the rain for about an hour, never got wet, so impressed. Would recommend. True to size.
The RST Pro Series Vulcan CE Textile Trousers are excellent quality and very comfortable to wear. The all-black design looks sleek and matches perfectly with the jacket. They feel strong and well-made, with great protection and flexibility for riding. The fit is spot on, offering good movement without feeling bulky, and they perform well in different weather conditions. Overall, a reliable and high-quality pair of riding trousers that I would definitely recommend.
I bought these to match the Vulcan jacket, these jeans come with braces or can attach easily to the jacket with a zip. Good number of pockets and good hip armour. They have venting on the thigh but I've found the positioning tends to mean the vents are kept closed when in the seated position. The waist is quite high and fastens with a popper then two Velcro straps on either side of where a traditional buckle would be which makes them very comfortable. I've not had a chance to assess the waterproofing but I am very please with these so far.
Dislikes: obviously awkward hand pockets difficult to reach. The trousers are a pain to put on, slim fit style, baggy lower inside material.
Likes: once the trousers are on, they feel brilliant. The waist sits high and protects the lower back from draft and cold which is a godsend. It is laborious to fasten them nevertheless sturdy. The air vents work well and the lower part do not allow cold air with short boots.
No problems in the wet or hot weather (when in motion feels perfect, stationary it is too warm for full summer).
I very much like the suit (ignore the small size of the pockets) and recomend it for 3 seasons commuting or touring.
