Klim Tactical Pro Armoured Long Sleeve Base Layer Shirt - Stealth Black

I’ve accumulated a lot of Klim gear over the years but this is the first stand alone armour. I had to go up a size from my Klim jacket size from a large to an xl for this but I’ve found the same issue with t-shirts and mx jerseys from Klim. I had a Alpinestars bionic pro v2 before this which was comfy but the kidney belt never sat right and it was quite warm as well. So when Klim came out with this with the “Brrr cooling system” and no kidney belt I thought this would be more comfortable for me and it is. It is definitely cooler, normally when I take body armour off it’s damp around the back and chest but this was dry and so was I, so the material does what it says it does.
It’s quite tight on the arms so I removed the adjusters, but because there is no material in the armpit area that also helps perspiration. I don’t think it gives quite as much armour coverage in the chest area as the Alpinestars but I’m being super picky now, the soft bicep and upper hip protection is a nice addition and the ability to remove the armour for washing is a big plus over the Alpinestars.
I really like the combination of hard plastic outer armour and flexible inner armour, the inner soft armour is very similar to the Alpinestars nucleon armour which is super comfy and light. One thing I really like is its longer in the torso so you can tuck in in your trousers and it doesn’t ride up exposing your pie storage centre. I think it would crash well and not end up a one crash throw away wonder. Would I recommend it, yes I would, it’s expensive but not much more than other high end brands in this section but the material against your skin is super comfy and you soon forget you’re wearing it.
