Nolan N40-5 Classico - Gloss Black

As a returning rider following a 30 year absence from bike ownership, I didn t really know what to look for with modern helmets but I am delighted with this choice.

It comes with both a clear and smoked main visor which are easy to swap out. It also has an integral flip down sunvisor which has been really useful.

I found that the smoked main visor was a little too dark on overcast British weather days so I have opted to ride with the clear visor most of the time and to use the internal drop-down sunvisor when the sun is bright.

One point to note though is if you re riding directly into the sun the internal sunvisor is not quite dark enough. It feels like you could do with a pair of shades on underneath the visor. On days like that it would probably be better to have the smoked main visor on and the internal sunvisor working together. The problem is that I would not carry the spare main visor with me, so occasionally you re going to be in situations riding into bright sunlight with only the clear main visor and the internal sunvisor.

I love the metallic blue colour and the design of the helmet. It s an open face helmet which is what I wanted, so overall I would recommend this product.

After trying on an LS2 Verso and one other helmet (no longer available) I chose the Nolan as it was the best fit for me and oozed quality that the others didn't have. I have done a lot of riding with it on and have found it very comfortable in both hot and cold weather. The air vent on the top is easy to use and effective. I wear glasses and this is the first helmet I've had where the drop down sun shade can be used without fouling on my glasses. The sun shade is also easy to use. I ride two scooters, both fitted with windshields, and the helmet is quiet enough not to need ear plugs even at motorway speeds, which is also a first for me. I really hope they make these helmets for a long time because I will definitely buy this model again.

Been using Nolan helmets since a child as in my countrty they are a popular brand and Nolan delviers with yet another quality helmet that is comfortable stylish and reliable. Have no issues traveling with it and low and high speeds during hot tropical days and hurricans and prefer the open face flexiblity of this series and the customizations of the helmets visor.

First bought this model in 2019 because of the easy install of a headset and the perfect visor size for an open face helmet. Thus one is even better and super comfortable. Shop delivered the next day for free.
