Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Always bought Alpinestars kit. Wanted to try something different. Really pleased with this. Fit is nice. Well made. Looks great. My only niggle would be the zip pockets. Quite tricky to zip up n down easily. But its a minor thing.
Great jacket fully waterproof and a lot warmer than a Rukka one that I bought. Criticism is that it only has 2 pockets!!!
This is a real drawback, no insure pocket to put your phone or wallet.
Otherwise a good jacket.
This is an honest review after 2 long days riding on a sport touring bike.
Jacket fits well the arms are long enough for a man not a T-rex double zip on front is easy to operate even with gloves. Collar is high enough to cover a mid layer without choking, good amounts of velcro for different size necks or scarf. Waist strap adjusts nicely as does arm. Lower body elastic cinches without bulging jacket.
Coldish and wet- 5 deg very early morning sealed well allowed for a mid layer and base layer without being restrictive(ditched the fitted liner) velcro at wrists allowed for warm gloves and held tight. Moderate rain for an hour stayed perfectly dry.
18 deg and sunny wed 18 March- vents open and mid layer ditched there is enough space in the jacket for air to circulate without feeling baggy. The arms do this weird thing where the zip covers kinda arch in the cold i thought this was annoying in the hot it holds those vents open which is amazing at letting air through the sleeves. Magnetic holders at the collar keep the chest and neck vent open easy and operation even when riding is a cinch. Jacket was comfortable to ride throughout
2 questionable features that do not detract for me. The quilted liner is newspaper thin however modern riders should use a mid layer(destination jacket) theyre a better solution any day. The velcro at the wrists when fully wide open they dont hold you have to pull it across a cm which means you cant have it fully open at the wrists but there is still enough for plenty of ventilation with sports gloves. This is the 10th jacket i have tried this year to find something that will be an all purpose jacket for touring and its the best of the bunch even considering competition with £1000 jackets. I own 3 other jackets and have been riding 25 years in all weathers and I already know this will be my go to jacket in a week of ownership.
