Advice & Guides You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Great helmet for the price nice and light very little wind noise looks great with my bike
I have tried on about 50 helmets (no exaggeration) from so many different brands and some the same helmet but in two sizes. I have an oval shaped head. I originally bought an LS2 the same as my husbands but after sitting with it on for an hour, I started to feel pressure on the top and front of my head despite it being a size small but my head measures extra small. He find his LS2 so comfortable but he has a round head. I saw another review on this scorpion helmet where the guy sent it back and got an LS2 where as I have done the opposite. I am in between a size XS and S.
XS was too snug and the S was only slightly too big BUT after adding a balaclava and pumping up the cheeks with the airfit system, it is a perfect fit. Finally I have a helmet that fits and with glasses too. No pressure points and the material inside is so soft. No problem with ventilation and is light to wear being carbon. If you’re struggling to find a helmet with a small oval shaped head, then try this one. I did have to fiddle with the chin strap a lot to make it tighter as even fully done up it was loose. Quick you tube video helped with that.
Thank you to the Boston crew for getting so many helmets out for me and for suggesting the balaclava. It made all the difference. Very happy with my lovely new helmet!
Had an exo 1400 Carbon in the past, but I ordered online and the wrong size so I eventually switched to a GT Air 3, but I always felt it looked too big due to the shell size.
Then I saw this and knew instantly I had to get one. It’s just stunning in the flesh and so light and comfortable.
Comes with a pin lock visor and a tinted visor, how they can do all that for this price is simply beyond me.
I have a photochromatic visor on order for the winter months.
Very light and broke in to the shape of my head quickly, font vent works well but not sure of the top vents effectiveness. Lock on visor is fiddly with gloves on. Pump up air fit is clever but fiddly to use even with glove off. Pointy bit on back of crash helmet not very friendly for pillion passenger!
Such a great starter helmet for my motorcycle journey. Fits so comfortably and snug and has all the features I would need - enough vents, clear and smoked visor and the built in sun visor. Really like the sleek design of the carbon fibre and matte black look.
This is a quality helmet!! It’s extremely comfortable and it looks the mutts nuts!! Everyone that’s seen it has commented on the look and weight of it.
Seemed ok when I tried it on but now after two weeks it ve given up and bought an Ls2 scorpion lid is comfy enough just the wind noise is the worst I’ve ever experienced it’s been 340 down the drain really I son it recommend this helmet
Really impressed with this helmet overall. The carbon finish looks great in person and keeps the weight down, which makes a noticeable difference on longer rides.
Fit is snug without being uncomfortable, and once on, it feels very secure and well put together. Ventilation is good, and it remains comfortable even after extended use.
Wind noise is well controlled for this type of helmet, and paired with a decent intercom setup it works really well for both music and calls.
I picked this up from SportsBikeShop Leeds and had my intercom fitted at the same time, which made the whole process easy and ready to go straight away.
Overall, exactly what I was looking for lightweight, comfortable, and high quality.
There aren't many brands of carbon helmet in the sun £500 category that go down to a size suitable for smaller head - this the cheek pumping adjustability and feels nice and secure (pretty sure it's great for big heads too... Just talking from my own lower end of the scale experience). The matte patterned finish looks great and bonus it comes with a tinted visor and pinlock ?
Just swapped my Klim helmet for this Exo 1500. I haven’t had to fit the pin lock yet as this helmet does a really good job of venting, the front vent seems to have 3 positions so you can regulate the air flow pretty well. The chin curtain does a good job of keeping the air out and there’s a pump system to make the cheek pads a bit tighter if you want a snug fit. I have fitted the black visor which isn’t super dark but if you struggle you can also lower the sunglasses. The sunglasses also have a feature where you can throw a small switch underneath the main slider that lowers them and it will raise them a few mm if they are touching your nose. Easy to fit my Cardo to the helmet too, one of the best helmets I have had
