They’re comfortable enough to wear all day under regular trousers/jeans. I’ve worn them in the office under my jeans all day and even wore them to go climbing outdoors under my climbing trousers (to save having to change my trousers in the car park), the extra padding on the knees was a welcome bonus when thrutching my way up a couple of routes.
I have fairly chunky legs and these fit me just right. Maybe a little tight, but that’s the idea (think riding jodhpurs tight, so need to be peeled off rather than slid off).
The only gripes I have is only level 1 armour, for negligible extra cost it would be nice to have level 2. also be aware the pockets for the knee armour are open at the bottom so you’ll need pads with Velcro on if you plan on upgrading to level 2 otherwise they’ll just slide out.
After getting the knee pads properly adjusted, the base layer fit seamlessly. Wore them under a pair of light weight cargo trousers in the warm weather and were breathable enough.
