Advice & Guides The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...

Customers praise the quality and comfort of these boots, highlighting their waterproof properties and excellent protection. They appreciate the snug fit, suggesting sizing up for the perfect fit. Many find them immediately comfortable, suitable for long rides, and durable in all weathers. Some customers noted that the shin protection could be overly thick, affecting fit with certain pants. While praised for road and track use, one customer mentioned some design concerns, preferring the older model's style. Overall, they are warmly recommended for their reliability and durability.
Writing this review nearly 2 years later now that they're thoroughly worn out and need replacing.
The positives:
• Protective - lateral ankle support is very good and the boots are still stiff even at the end of their lives.
• They offer really good lever feel.
• Comfort on the bike is top notch for me. I consider my feet to be wide and these were wide enough.
The negatives:
• wear and tear - it didn't take long before some signs started showing. The soles are thin and wear off quickly.
• waterproofing - when new, they were 100% watertight but now they leak badly in the rain.
• Comfort off the bike isn't great. That's to be expected as they're sporty bike boots not for hiking.
I commute so I'm bound to wear through gear quicker than most. If you ride for leisure only I think these are spot on for road riding. If you want more longevity you'll have to look at a higher price bracket
True to size, fit very well, exceptionally comfy, fully waterproof (I ve ridden in awful conditions!). Highly recommended
Absolutely solid feel, very comfortable and can feel a lot through the boot. Sizing runs similar to regular shoes and the fitting is great. 10/10 would definitely recommend
As you would expect from Alpinestars, great quality boot. They fit comfortably straight out of the box, but as with all boots take a little while to bend and Flex to your feet. Haven't tested their water proofing just yet. If wearing with jeans the seams can cause irritation, but you just need to move the bottom of the jeans around a bit, not the boots fault though. Thoroughly recommend.
Really comfy boots great value for money
Still holding out very well. All weathers absolutely superb, very comfortable will definitely be buying again
Have bought a number of pairs of these over the years starting with smx-4. They are quite a slim snug fit and give slightly over use to give a nice fit. Fully waterproof all year round. Size I usually wear a uk 6.5 shoe and a size 40 fits me. They usually last me about a year of daily use.
I'm 175 cm, and a size 45 fits well together with my v3 leather pants. Tight enough around the ankle but not too night around the foot.
Dry, really dry, they did not take a single drop in. Non-slip contact tarmac. The only problem is they were made in 24' so 5 years to replacement count from last year, maybe due to discounted price...but still happy.
Excellent customer service 5/5
The boots are a really good fit (do check the Alpinestars website for sizing- the SBS fit guide is not accurate). Very warm and sturdy. Quality you would expect from AS. They look good too. As always, you can't fault the service from SBS.
Being my first pair of proper boots (had Sektors before) I can't recommend these enough, they're comfortable and light and after a few rides I now have really good manoeuvrability in them, they feel well made and inspire a little more confidence knowing I have better protection 5 stars from me
Well made with good protection. Comfy to wear on bike and walking. Warm in cooler october, not been out in rain yet. Only drawback is that they are very hard to get on and off, but hopefully get better as they are worn in
Good boot, got to replace my old smx 6 v1
Few new bits of padding
Good for road and track
Feel slightly smaller that the old ones
Worn these a couple of times now (2.5 to 3.5 hour rides) and really pleased with them. Really comfortable straight out of the box, bought my usual size, seem very well made with very good protection. And look really good too. Would definitely recommend. My motorbike jeans don't really fit over the top of the boots as they're quite bulky, but I do have 'slim fit' jeans. There's no pressure points from the jeans being inside the boots though.
I bought these to replace some old worn out TCX boots which are sadly no longer made.
I cant fault the boots so far - super comfortable from day one (no breaking-in required) and sizing is the same as other shoes/boots I wear. They do feel quite tight to get on (and off) but once on they are perfect.
It's turned colder as I'm writing this and I have found the boots very warm so think they may be a bit too warm for summer use.
I've ridden in light rain and showers so far and no issues with wet feet but not tested in heavy prolonged rain yet.
My opinion - worth the money.
These boots appear to be very secure and safe, when on they are very very comfy but, getting them on is hard and getting them off is very hard.
I say, try on a pair before you buy. My foot jams on way in and on way out but, they are great once on.
