Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers generally praised the Oxford Hardy jacket for its stylish retro design, comfort, and overall quality. Many appreciated its warmth with the thermal liner and noted its good fit for casual wear. However, several customers highlighted sizing issues, often needing to size up due to snug fits, especially in the arms. They appreciated the pocket placement but expressed concerns about the back protector pocket's functionality. The jacket received positive feedback for its decent water resistance and adaptability for different seasons. Customers were consistently impressed with the jacket's look and feel.
Nice study jacket that looks very nice and good for colder weather. My husband enjoy it.
Product is a snug fitting jacket, SPORTSBIKESHOP exchanged it for me for a bigger size, great work by SPORTSBIKESHOP again. I am happy with the jacket, but size up.
I was looking for a textile jacket for a trip to Spain that wasn't too bulky and could be worn casually as well. This jacket ticked all the boxes, comfortable, plenty pockets, elbow and shoulder protection and at a great price.
I bought this jacket based solely on its looks and I’m not disappointed. I have a bike that is a retro so the gear I normally wear looks, well, a little daft on it.
This has the look of the old wax cotton jackets of my youth but a bit more stylish.
I’d read other people’s reviews on this jacket and noted criticisms but went ahead anyway.
I am for the most part very happy with the jacket but, as others have said the cuffs are a little too tight to get gloves under and conversely a little too bulky to get gloves over (mine at least). This may improve if the liner is removed but as yet, in mid March it’s too cold for me to give a verdict on that.
I also found the brass zips on the waist pockets a bit sharp on my fingers but this may ease with use taking the edge off then. Same with the pop fasteners I expect the use of them to get easier with a bit more use.
On a personal level I always struggle with the neck closures on jackets and would prefer that it was either a Velcro or magnetic fastener
I found the fit to be just right ordering my normal size.
I also found it warm enough, even in March, to ride with just at T shirt under (I did regret that after around 60 miles though).
It didn’t claim to be waterproof so I don’t expect it to be.
As I said it was more of a styling thing for me and on that score I personally think it’s spot on, even down to the period looking plaid lining on the collar. I’m hoping it will get the same patina the jackets of old got but even if not I’m happy with my purchase and, as always, the service from SBS is exemplary.
Fits perfectly, medium, slimmer build 6ft. Quality seeming to be excellent for long lasting jacket.
Been looking at one of these jackets for ages, took the plunge and ordered from Sportsbikeshop.
Came into store the next day.
Zips are good and plenty of pockets, removable thermal liner and overall a nice retro looking wax jacket.
Look very nice, soft and comfortable. True to size
Feels very good quality and looks smart. Sizing a bit on the small size so size up.
I previously had the Richa version of this jacket and after a year or so the zip started to come away so I decided to go for Oxford this time. This feels like a much better jacket all round, more useable pockets, a better zip and still looks very nice. Amazing service from SBS as usual, thank you!
Feels strong and comfortable .
I added a back protector. Its good quality and like many bike jackets just go one size up in my view.
I purchased hased it for a trip to the Lake District. Perfect t on yhe Motor Way and along the trails. tbh I was considering the Marrakesh. I'm glad I opted for this :)
Really like this jacket it feels stylish to wear and fits really well. I am usually a medium and the XL was the perfect size. Have only worn it in slight rain so not sure about how waterproof it would be. Very warm and with a nice liner. Bought the back protector as not standard with the jacket.
Really liked the retro look, lots of pockets and protection. It has an inner liner that can be removed. Ordered online and came next day.
I m really happy with the jacket, great quality, looks great, perfect fit, recently purchased a Triumph Scrambler and its the perfect jacket.
Accurate sizing
Jacket is comfortable and arms are not restricting..Body armour is discrete and not bulky
This is a nice jacket. My first jacket as a kid was a waxed cotton one and I’d been wanting one for ages. It feels strong, it’s comfortable and it’s easy to get on. The fastening studs at the neck are quite stiff at first but I’ve got the knack of it now. I like the look and feel of it….its a proper jacket, lots of pockets. I went for the large (normally wear medium). It fits fine?
