Customer Reviews for Keis J501 Premium Heated Jacket - Black / Red
I had the original version a few years ago. It was bulky and I had to wear a size larger jacket. This is much thinner and lighter and fits under my proper size jacket. The pockets are a nice addition. I wear it instead of having the jacket liner in. It's very warm, too hot unless you have the temperature controller. Why Keis think this is an accessory I don't know. Well done to Sportsbikeshop for including it as a free gift. Sizing is very odd. I bought a size 3XS for my 37" chest. Only niggle is that the sleeves are just a bit too short and the cuffs a bit tight even on my slim forearms.Read more

Keis J501 Superb
Wired it into battery on K1600 as recommended and this product is superb. I set it to low on free supplied controller and the heat is instant. Definitely 100% recommend. Service and delivery was also brilliant.Read more
odd sizing but game changer!
Sizing is odd I could go down 2 sizes to L which would have been a better fit to my body but due to arms length/arm pit tightness wouldn't have been comfortable on the bike over the long term. The XL is a bit baggy but more comfortable on the bike so I stuck with that. having said all of that, you can clearly tell its built to a quality standard and on the low setting at 1 degree delicious with thermal liner out of my jacket and on my z1000sx I was sweating! enough said really... in future iterations I would love to see more heat in the frontal area (equivalent to the heat the back of the this version produces). Heating in the neck region I found less useful to be honest but that may just be me. honestly a really game changer in terms of my winter riding. I used to think twice before jumping on the bike in those cold mornings but now I just pop my jacket on knowing im covered and off I go.Read more
Odd cut, amazing effect
I've been riding around in subzero with this over a t-shirt under my jacket, and it's been toasty. Top setting is almost too hot. It is a weird cut though, I'm 6'1" and about 14.5s, and I'm in a small. It should have been cut more like a cycling jacket with longer arms and drop. The M I tried was bunching up and far too bit. Definitely go a size down, but be wary that the arms might be too short. Cables get a bit in the way too: since they connect to your left hip, it means it dangles about near the rear wheel when not in use. I'm planning to solder up a coiled cord to fix that problem. Again though, it's revolutionised my winter riding. I can't believe I've only just gotten one: on balance, I love what it does.Read more
This is fantastic! So far I've ridden in around 5°c weather, with a t shirt, the heated jacket and my alpinestars coat over the top (with no liner). The free heat controller (thanks guys) is set on low and there hasn't been a hint of cold, if anything it gets a bit too warm. If you're thinking about buying one, do it, it's well worth the money. And as always, great service from SBS.Read more

You need this in your life
If your bike could give you a hug to keep you warm whilst riding in the winter months, this is pretty much what it would feel like. I had a Keis heated vest previously which was great but I decided to upgrade this winter. This J501 is simply on another level to my old vest and is utterly fantastic. So far, it's been tested down to -5 and I still haven't needed to go past medium on the heat controller with just a T shirt underneath my jacket (Klim Latitude which is actually quite thin) - in fact the less you wear under heated jackets, the more you'll feel the warmth. My old vest is 3 years old and still going strong - the new one feels just as good quality so I have no doubt this one will last just as well. All in all a great product and one that you will not regret buying. Worth every single penny.Read more

Questions and Answers
As pillion my arms get very cold even with many layers on. Can anyone tell me if the Keis J501 keeps the arms warm and what parts of the arms are covered by the elements? Any advise would be welcome!March 26, 2019
Hi, the J501 has heat panels on the chest, kidneys, arms and collar. The panels on the arms run from the top of the outside of the arm to just above the sleeve zip.
As I frequently travel with a pillion passenger can you connect/power two Keis J501 jackets from a single motorbike?May 29, 2018
We can see no reason why not - you would need to check that your charging system is capable of taking the draw of two jacket and any other accessories that you are running. The current draw of each jacket is 7A.
Does the Keis j501 jacket have the distribution system as the X25 jacket-for the Keis gloves ?February 23, 2018
The Keis vest is able to operate on its own or integrate (connect) with Keis heated trousers, gloves, or insoles, via convenient built-in power leads and/or sockets.
How does it connect? Cigarrette lighter type plug?February 22, 2018
The jacket comes with a motorcycle battery connection loom, if you wish to connect it to 12v socket you would need to purchase the Keis Accessory plug lead separately.
Why can't the power pack be used with this? Are there any full length sleeved jackets that it can be? I have multiple biked and would rather not be wired to themJanuary 10, 2018
Unfortunately the J501 jacket would require too much draw from the battery pack. You would be able to use either the Keis V501 Premium Heated Vest or the Keis X10 Heated Body Warmer with the use of the battery pack but they are not full sleeved jackets.
