Shark Spartan Priona - Matt Black / Anthracite

Great helmet, had it a week or 2 now and done around 400 miles so I've got a feel for it now. Colour is really cool, I love it. I put a few layers of a watermelon car wax with ceramic in it now to keep that nice shine on it + bugs and dirt literally come off with water really easily. Smells nice too .

It has replaced my Shoei Neotec that's 5 years old so the Shark has a lot to live up to since the Shoei is such good quality, Comfortable, and quiet. I'm going to compare it to the Shoei since that's what I'm used to. FYI I bought that cheap in grey for £380 from an Italian website, it was like £440 in the UK and this Shark is £270. I'm definitely happy, its not perfect but its about the same overall, but it looks 10x better and is nearly half the price. Remember the Shoei was a flip front as well so it was mega easy to put on and I haven't had a full face for like 7 years now, but the Shark is still super easy to put on, don't know why I paid the extra for an open face this whole time!

The Sharks inside lining is a bit more comfortable, sun visor literally covers your WHOLE vision whereas you could look around them in the Shoei. Sun visor is about the same quality in both, which is great because when I got the Shoei I noticed how the sun visor was so much better than others I'd used.

Shark has a bit more air around your neck, and the pull down neck curtain doesn't really seem to do anything. Seems like a great idea but I can't honestly notice any difference.

Shark chin vent is good, maybe better than Shoei but the top vent doesn't do that much, but then the Shoei just directs air onto a tiny patch above your forehead which wasn't that effective anyway.

My Interphone intercom fit straight in no problem, lining was easy enough to remove and replace and speakers fit behind the lining and you font notice them.

Finally wind noise, this is probably the worst part for me. I wear earplugs anyway so its not that noticeable. Its not bad by any means, its just slightly more than my Shoei and at around 40 there's a slight whistle coming from the front of the visor. It goes if I put my hand over it which is weird, it also goes as soon as you speed up as well past 45/50. This is probably where it would be better with the new Shark Spartan GT, since that has a different visor locking system, and I'm guessing they got rid of the whistle. Not really worth the extra £100 for me though but I'm sure its just as good.

FYI it was a choice beter this, the GT, and the AGV K5-S, and maybe the Scorpion 1400 exo. The AGV I felt about the same but there as too many reviews saying its not comfortable all day, more like just a few hours which is no good for me. The GT wasn't worth the extra £100 for me, and the Scorpion only came in darker colours which I didn't like.it was a lot cheaper though at around £200 so if you like the colours that would be a good alternative.

If you made it all the way down here after reading all of that, you must really want this helmet, so just buy it in a nice colour and enjoy

It's really comfortable, perfect fit, sun visor works really well, zero whistling, very quiet, feels sturdy, looks better quality materials than my old Spartan Helmet. The visor doesn't have a small click open setting on the hinge when you need extra air to stop steaming up below 50mph, fyi it goes up higher than I would say most bikers prefer. But it doesn't bother me so much, as I'm confident in taking one hand off the handlebar now and again to open or close the visor that inch of travel. Very clear visor, all the switches for the vents and drop down visor feel of good quality functions and materials. Easy to use when on the move.

This is a wonderful motorcycle helmet combining quality, comfort, and quietness on the road. I would highly recommend it to all. It offers a slightly more rounded fit compared to HJC helmets which suits me perfectly - no pressure points, perfect comfort right out the box. Great service from Sportsbikeshop.

Love the look of the helmet but is is a bit noisy for the money, I'm actually thinking I should have bought one of the Shoei white ones on offer at about £100 more,

Going from one of the cheaper helmets to this one the difference is mind blowing. Very comfortable very good air flow never steams up. Really happy with the styling

Great looking and great fitting helmet. Only downside was no pin lock visor included.

This is my second Shark Spartan full face lid and I love it!
There's plenty ventilation in hot weather courtesy of the vents which are operated by a single slider switch on the top - which is easy enough to find with the gloves on. To be honest, I live in the Highlands of Scotland, so hot weather is not a great concern of mine, although it may be to you. The internal sun visor is also operated with a slider and I love the fact that the visor comes completely down to hide your face - no need for a dark tint external visor. The helmet is also adapted for glasses/shades if required and the sun visor clears them easily.
My head is 61.5cm & I bought the XL which fits like a glove - the fit is tight to begin with but the padding soon adapts to your face.
For a change, I thought I'd try the Shark Evo One 2 but I didn't think it was as good as the Spartan for comfort, features & appearance.

Picked this up after trying the grey (standard) version in my local bike shop, really nice fitting helmet and lighter than my last Shark lid (though all my spare visors fit this one). Very quiet at speed too and i do like the position of the sun visor's operating lever. Very comfy and compact design makes for a really nice helmet and the red graphics are really bright (think DynoRod red, which the wife's happy about) Shark are currently running the spare visor deal which makes the price of this really attractive too.
So in summary, this looks the biz especially with my tinted visor and performs really well at low and high speeds with good airflow when the vents are open. Even being a two year old design it's still a really nice lid.

Decent hat for the price. Very well made and comfortable.
