The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...
Customers praise Forma boots for their comfort, robust construction, and ease of use. Many commend their true-to-size fit or suggest buying a size up for a better fit. The boots are highly regarded for their comfort right out of the box and suitability for both riding and walking. Some customers noted the boots' excellent grip and effective fastenings. While a few experienced initial tightness or minor issues, overall satisfaction remains high, with the boots' performance in wet conditions receiving mixed reviews. Highly recommended by customers.
As a female rider there are very few boots to pick from , especially if you have smaller feet and don't want boots with heels.
These boots are just what I was looking for, great looking, great fit, great quality I love them they are perfect .
My feet feel very protected in these boots. Comfortable and warm
Nice fit, warm and waterproof so far. Rode in heavy rain for an hour on the motorway, nothing got in!
These boots are just exactly what I was looking for..
Comfy out of the box and hard wearing. I walk around a lot with them on and they are as good as walking boots.
They are also very warm and waterproof. To top it all they are a reasonable price too
Great fit, light and comfortable.
In horrendous rain I found the gear leaver area leaked a little, so not 100% waterproof.
They seem well made, I have only ridden a couple hundred miles in them so far but already I love them.
Well made, feel secure, comfy & warm. I went up a size so I can wear cozy thick socks (I live in Scotland). Plenty of room to tuck my jeans & jeggings in. I wanted to buy the Lady Tourers but they didn't have my size but am very happy with these. I have Lady Daytonas which I love but wanted a taller boot for winter, these are not the same quality as my Daytonas but still very good.
Excellent boot, I have been searching for a quality pair of stylish boots for ages, these Forma tick all the boxes, did have to go up 1 size but the these boots are comfortable, waterproof and look excellent.
Brillliant pair of boots very comfy and water resistant I know cause I've been out in the pouring rain in them already. Very sturdy too and to my mind also very well made. Excellent value for the price paid. That and they are good looking boots too
Top quality product. Light and flexible to wear. Look good too.
We haven't had any rain since I bought them, but the membrane is as high as the boot. Always a good sign.
Thought long and hard about Adventure boots but glad I went for these Forma tourer ones instead of other types of Adventure boots. These are not so stiff and no probs walking in them from the off.
They are robust, comfy from outset and keep your feet dry and warm.
I'm a UK 10 so went for Euro 45 which I think worked out at 10.5 UK, and they fit perfect. I never wear thick socks and my feet are really warm in them.
So far so good with all clip etc very easy to get the boots on/off.
The boots arrived within a couple of days and the ankle protector on the left boot was misshapen and rubbed against the ankle. A quick message to the guys and a swap was arranged. The whole process took 4 days over a bank holiday weekend, the best service I have ever had from an online purchase.
The boots themselves are really comfortable, based on other reviews I went up a size. I haven't tried them in the wet yet, but so far I am extremely happy.
So far it's been dry weather riding with these on, but super comfortable, they feel well made, look great and give you some extra confidence in their ankle and general strength.
Would happily recommend
This is the first pair of Forma boots and I thought they would be a nightmare to break in especially being adventure boots. I was wrong.
From the first time putting on they were like a pair of slippers, extremely comfortable for riding and walking in between riding. Great fit fastenings seem very good and nice comfy lining. I brought them online and they are true to fit which is a big bonus. For the price, you get a good standard of quality boot that does as it says on the box. Highly recommended for comfortable waterproof touring boots
Only done 300 miles in the dry, so just 4 stars at moment. Very good leather and build quality and like the two velcro fastenings with only one clip. Definitely go a size up, I'm a 42 but ordered a 43 from others' advice. Ankle guard digging in a bit on right boot when walking, (about 1.5 miles), hopefully will ease with wear, but not noticeable riding bike, I'm using Leder Gris a clear wax from Altberg to preserve the leather and repel water. They look great and are pretty minimalist. Recommended.
Update:
I'm about to return the above boots for the reason below.
Although I bought the boots in Feb 2023, I only tax my bike from April to September because I am a fair weather rider and only choose dry days. Last Thursday 20th July I got caught in the rain for less than an hour. It was the first time the boots had been wet, although I have ridden hundreds of miles since April. Immediately the boots felt damp, and even though the rain stopped and I rode for another five hours, when I returned home, my socks and boot interiors still felt damp.
My friend also has the same boots (although bought on ebay), and he said the first time he rode in the rain the boots were soaked though.
I have protected the boots by applying Altberg clear boot wax before every ride, to keep the leather supple and weatherproof, so it is particularly disappointing that the boots have let in water after such a brief period of rain.
They are such a comfortable pair of boots, I hope that it is just a batch problem (although my friend got his from ebay).
Only just purchased these boots, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality and the fit of these boots! I did look at the reviews of these boots and also asked friends that are driving Examainers and police and they a they all rate them! Been a motorcycle instructor and been out in all weathers week in week out, I would definitely recommend and are well worth the 5 stars!
This is my second Forma boots. My first pair (an Edge), still in good use, is lower and with laces.
This pair is very comfortable but completely different in its feel and use. On pegs, almost unmovable unless you lift them, supper grip. They are thicker or taller also in the toe area, so gear changes is something to adjust to or you may need to adjust the lever. Still, very easy to operate.
On the break less feel so again some 'getting used to' in place.
The best part for me is the ease of putting them on and taking them off - effortless.
I tried many others and likely you know that too, with some it is a real challenge and a lot of sweat :)
So far with single sock in temps below 0, my feet remained warm and comfy. Didn't experience yet any river crossing or heavy rain with them on but those boots look very solid and well made. On description they are water proof and as for now, I believe in that :)
Currently, while riding with thermal liners some trousers might be a better fit then the others. All depends how low liner goes and how wide bottom part unzips. It is great with my new Horizon 3 H2O, because liner is high and they open up but my IXS Classic Gore-Tex pair, which is perfect in all other respects, it not so easy to lower them over the boots as it is very tight fit. But pretty good when you ride - no wind gets in :)
Finally, as some other people here mentioned, the best is to try in the shop for sizing and comfort as differences are massive between brands, models.
Only 4 stars at this stage, because I've had them only for 2 weeks.
I had to purchase boots quickly, as a previous pair had ripped between sole and upper, so SPORTSBIKESHOP was my first, and only consideration. No disappoint here, because they handled my return and refund without hassle - thanks Customer Service team!
They also dispatched these boots the evening I ordered them, and I had them the day after, a Saturday.
The boots looked great on arrival, and I'd ordered a size 43 for my slim size 9 feet.
At first, and on the first ride, with 2 pairs of socks (it was a chilly -3 ride to work) the fit was a little too snug, and I wondered if I might change them for a 44, but as I'd used them, wasn't able to send them, back.
So, at the first opportunity, I wore just the one pair of socks, and after a few days, they appeared to ease a little, being comfortable now, still the slightest tad smaller than I'm used to, but I can walk in them and the brake and gear change are not at all compromised.
I hope this helps with sizing for you.
The construction of the boots is great, and the only other issue I find, is that with slim legs, the Velcro straps at mid and high area of the boot, close with a larger, unsecured inch or so, which sticks a little inside my jeans.
Having said that, this doesn't affect the comfort of my jeans, nor the boots, and the jeans I use are thick Roadskins or Kevlar RST Pro's.
Overall then, a great touring boot, comfortable, and supple after a few days riding.
I would certainly look at Forma boots again, as I love the gentle style, the comfort, and the ride ability of them.
I would just make sure to try in store first, to size correctly.
I've tried quite a few but forma is by far the most comfy warm and waterproof boot out there. I highly recommend those
