Advice & Guides When it comes to staying warm, the first layer is key. Start here, with these…

Customers appreciate the Rukka Outlast base layer for its comfort and adaptability across varying temperatures. It’s recommended for both warm and cool weather, becoming a favorite for many, especially during tours and rides. Some mention that it functions well in maintaining body temperature without feeling clingy. The quality and durability are praised, though sizing up is sometimes necessary due to the snug fit. Overall, this base layer is valued for its performance and reliability, despite a few reservations about its price.
At the price these cost they should be better. Rukka wants to be a premium brand but is let down by its quality control and poor warranty that is worthless. i purchased the shirt and leggings and the legging developed a manufacturing fault withing 10 months. The shirt is still Ok but Rukka try every excuse not to honour a warranty and I do feel let down by SBS who considering the thousands I have spent at this shop could have replaced them as a gesture of goodwill. The size and fit are good. They assist to keep you cooler in summer and add a layer in cold weather but not much good for extreme conditions.
An excellent base layer for both warm and cooler days. I usually switch to HH merino wool when temperatures fall below 7°C, but with the right layering, this one still handles it with ease. It’s so good that this is the second one I bought and even wear them at work.
Highly recommended!
Great fit, easy to wash/dry especially when traveling/touring
Good to keep your body at a regulated temp.
Not good for single digits weather but anything 10 degrees upwards is great once you get used to it.
Sizing is accurate
This is my go to base layer. super comfortable, helps keep me warm when it chilly and cooler when its warm. Seems to work well in all conditions so has made my other base layer tops redundant except for my zerofit for when its quite a bit chilly.
I was looking for something to wear as a base layer beneath my Rukka Air Karvik. As usual with Rukka I needed to go up one size as they're a bit slim-fitting, which I'm not.
This does the job well, and while I'm sure I could have used any old base layer from an outdoor shop, if you're a bit vain like me it's nice having your kit match!
Great fitting and comfortable for wearing during those long rides and days out. Looks and feels good.
Quality product, good fit and extremely comfortable. Works well in the heat and cold.
The shirt fits well and is comfortable.
I have not really noticed the heat storage and release properties claimed. A bit of a disappointment really.
As a consequence I use other base layers in preference- Under Armour and Helly Hansen are more suitable imo.
A perfect fit and feels very comfy.
It’s currently my go to top
Order as going to Belgium in June and wanted some base layer that would keep me cool when weather warm and warm when weather cold.
Iv used a few times in 6 deg and kept me warm. Not tried in plus 20 deg yet.
But the fit is lovely and material is soft don't even know you have it on.
Really good fit, excellent quality and works really well at regulating your body temperature.
Good layer warm and comfortable
a good buy in my opinion
Works really well.
Very comfortable.
Great quality.
Bought this base layer somewhat sceptically, as it was meant to keep you cool in the heat and warm when it gets cold. It really is comfortable and has been my go to shirt virtually every ride.
It really seems to work well, within certain tolerances.
I have bought another !!
I wasn't expecting much from this, but whether the weather is good or bad it adjusts accordingly.
Really impressed. Honestly folks, buy this.
Outlast Temperature Regulation stores and releases body heat. It works to keep the wearer's temperature not too hot... not too cold... but just right, over a broad range of environments and activity levels. When your activity level or the outside temperature increase, the Outlast thermocules that contain the phase change paraffin begin to change from a solid to a liquid which provides you with a comfortable sensation of thermal equilibrium. The energy required to activate this process comes from your warm body or the rising ambient temperature. When you begin to cool down, Outlast thermocules begin to change back from a liquid to solid. In this phase change, the energy that was absorbed by the thermocules while you were active is returned to you.
We can confirm that this garment is currently manufactured in Latvia.
This is a base layer, and so any other layers should be worn over the Outlast shirt.
A size 46 would be an XL and a 48 is listed as a 2XL
We would recommend the medium shirt for your chest size.
