If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
A well fitting jacket that keeps you warm and toasty on a chilly morning ride. Armour is comfortable and fits well against your body. Vents are effective allowing a flow of air on warmer days. Sleeves are long enough to tuck into gloves and the back is shaped to provide comfort when sitting on your bike. The storm collar though appears to offer only a minor improvement on the standard fitted collar. Leaving on a positive the zips are quality made and easy to operate offering a waterproof seal. Overall a great jacket.
I have waited a while to review this jacket as I really wanted to see how it would cope in Scotlands winter time, I would say the jacket and trousers stood up well but did still leak a bit but it was a torrential storm as I ride all year. I loved how snug the suit is and explained to someone that it gave me a similar confidence as I feel when in my leathers. Downside to this jacket I would say was its stitching as I had to send it back within 2 days as the cuff zip tore away on first use but sportsbike shop as always fixed this issue swiftly there also appears to be lots of loose threads. One other point to add is do not leave anything in the outer pockets as these are defo not waterproof as my phone and wallet found out. I guess you get what you pay for and this is defo one of the cheapest laminated suits but I would defo recommend.
Good quality, not as warm as my last weise jacket
Very good jacket especially at this price . Waterproof, warm and nice to wear also purchased matching trousers which are equally as good.
Bought this to replace my old jacket, didn't realise how chilly my old jacket was till I used this jacket. Not used in rain yet but have no doubt it will be waterproof. I ordered
2xl but has to send it back for next size up, so it seems sizing is on the small side. The returns and help I received from sportsbikeshop were superb. Will always use this firm for all motorcycling gear
Bought 3xl online for winter a size bigger than I normally buy for extra layers so I can get a thick pully & Gillet on for sub 5°c temps. Pockets ok, a couple more would be nice. The outer doesn't absorb water being laminated, but that does make it feel a little stiff. The neck is on tight side for my 16.5".
Bought as a winter jacket with matching trousers. Seems to be good. There's a lot of loose threads that I've had to trim off and a bit of dodgy stitching but nothing too concerning.
It's a very well priced piece of kit for what you get. Not used in the rain yet though.
I popped into Sportsbikeshop's Boston store to try on before buying and I'm glad I did. I needed to buy the size two larger than I anticipated. A couple of days later I need to make a trip down to London and the suit was very comfortable and worked well with the matching trousers. I only encountered a bit of drizzle, but the suit kept me warm and dry. For the money, excellent value.
i have only worn it today for the first time. i felt very comfortable and warm in it. it feels very secure and doesn't billow in the wind. it is certainly warmer than my 11 yr old heine gericke textile so all in all feels very good.
Bought to replace a 7 year old textile jacket for hot weather use and to get a touring jacket that meets current safety standards.
There are compromises to be made in touring requirements and I prefer a textile jacket for its versatility.
The overall look and feel of the jacket is that it is a well made good quality item. Without the liner it fits really well, with the liner it is tighter than I would like, however, I will wear it without the liner most of the time as a summer touring jacket. The next size up would be too big overall.
The exterior and interior pockets are good, however, not as good as my previous jacket that had two upper exterior chest pockets, this has none. The rear pocket is great for those touring documents.
Bought with venting very much in mind the one big plus for this jacket are the sleeve vents, these allow a cooling breeze up the arms. The shoulder and (especially) the back vents could be a lot larger. However, to be fair I wear an airbag jacket and these vents are restricted by this.
I like the additional chest overlap, this can be folded back on warmer days but will provide additional warmth if cooler.
Overall I'm happy with this jacket (especially for the price where it is very good) but it is still not perfect.
