Caberg Flyon - Bakari Matt Black / Yellow

I bought this helmet to take to the Algarve in Portugal for summer use as my Shark flip front can get a little hot. So far so good, with the sun shade down and visor up it's good for about 60mph and keeps me really cool. It's also quite light to wear. I wear earplugs so won't comment on noise. I have downrated it to a good from excellent because I did think with 3 sets of vents there would be better air flow over the top of the head but with the visor down you can't feel any flow and the helmet doesn't have the plushest interior padding around so it tends to dig in on my temples. Having said that, it's one of very few open face helmets suitable for touring.

Just purchased my new Caberg Flyon and and delighted with it. A well constructed helmet, good ventilation and a lot less wind noise than my old Caberg. Nice snug fit hence the reduction in wind noise and good all round vision. Great looking nice design and well finished. Well priced with the discount offered so great value.

This helmet is lightweight, with great visibility.
With visor down it feels like a full face.
Cost felt like good value, well made product.

Very pleased with this helmet, light and comfortable to wear, very good visor, optically clear and has an excellent , totally rain proof seal. Good value for the money. Ratchet fastener is a bit fiddly, but it does seem very strong

Bought to replace a four year old HJC open face helmet. This new helmet fits really well, is very light and has an easy to operate sun shade. I also like the ratchet fastener which feels very positive and firm. On the downside there appears to be no British safety rating.

Cons first: the clip for the neck strap is annoying close to the helmet liner making it a pain to undo, gotta drive your fingers into the cheek pad.
I don't have a particularly wide jaw but the bottom edges of the helmet drive a bit deep into my jaw muscles after a while. Hoping they'll soften up.
Doesn't seem to embrace my head in top as much as I'd like to. Almost feels like it's floating there, but yet doesn't move at all. Very strong in place.

Matt black on this attracts fingerprints and smudge like a mofool.

Pro or con? The visor is very tough in place when pulling down. So if you wanna ride with it up, it's gonna stay there nicely. Unclipping it from the down position is easy, unless you're coasting, but once it's sealed it's sealed.
I guess the name "flyon" means it won't "flyoff!" your head! Going at high speeds it doesn't move. I feel the way the shape of the visor comes low assists this.

Further pros:
Comfortable. I'm intermediate oval. Doesn't move at high speeds. No scooping of air on it unlike my nexx xg10 which almost parachutes.

Vents are easy to use and airflow works well. Head cooled nicely.

Visibility is amazing. In terms of vision, it's like I'm not wearing a helmet at all.

Quiet. Very surprisingly quiet for an open face! As mentioned I've got other open face visored helmets but never had anything like this. Unbelievable sound protection.

Rain sealing around the visor works well.

Sun visor works well, wish the lever was a bit more prominent though.

My previous caberg open face had the slider control for the inner visor on the top and it was excellent. As a spectacle wearer this was a godsend. Moved to the side on the Flyon to make way for air vents it now is difficult to operate and lowers the visor uneavenly leaving it lower on the control side :(. Great helmet spoilt by a poor inner visor mechanism.

This is the best helmet I have owned,and I am a Caberg person.
It is much lighter than my Caberg justisimo,my vision is much better and the venting is brilliant changing the visor is simple.i completely recommended this helmet . Buying from sports bike was so easy.

I love this helmet, I was struggling to find something that felt a little lighter and this is so comfortable.
It's great quality and looks and feels really good.
The big visor gives a a great all round vision and doesn't fog , the thickness and quality is spot on.

The Caberg Flyon is one of the best helmets I have ever had, now I ride a pcx125 and I found that having a full face helmet was a bit to much in city. So I thought let me try a jet style helmet and it is just the best it's comfortable and fits really well. The only thing I have to say is make sure you get the right size as the shell sizes change from Medium to Large.
