Advice & Guides Gore-Tex not keeping out water? There's a different procedure to getting it sorted, and here's an explainer...

Seems I am gradually bit by bit getting clad in Klim stuff. It's outrageously expensive but I never suffer from buyer's remorse. It is quality kit. Even though this is the cheapest waterproof jacket in their range it works really well. Have used it in storm conditions up in Northumberland going through Kielder Forest. Performs exactly as hoped.
Bear in mind it is very light weight. It does come with elbow and shoulder armour but in truth this jacket is really supposed to be worn over a separate layer of armour. My intended use will see me stashing it in warm dry weather then putting it on when it turns wet and/or cooler. I also got it big enough to put an electric heated jacket under it as well as the armour. So, for me, it should be a 4 season garment.
There are only 3 outside pockets and one inside - enough for my phone, keys, earplugs, penknife, wallet and eye glasses.
The cuffs are quite narrow with very little adjustment so getting gloves under the sleeve requires very light weight off road types.
In summary this is an excellent garment but like everything it depends on your intended use. If you are a commuter or long distance road tourer you will be better with something heavier weight, good integral armour, better cuff/glove connection and wind/water neck protection. Otherwise you can't go wrong with this, especially as SBS are at the time of writing doing a sizeable discount on it.
No worn it yet, but is well made, would buy Klim again.
This is actually sold for off-road use, and may not be too hot for some people. I however bought it for road use, having bought a new Naked bike and not wanting to have to carry a ruck-sack. I can now layer up, and not worry if it rains. I'll not get wet (best available Goretex) and not too hot (my own problem). Armour is good, but you need to buy/swap out a back protector, as it doesn't come with one. It's VERY expensive, but Klim = the BEST.
1. SMART looking jacket looks better in the flesh.
2.100% waterproof, breathable, windproof, very lightweight, good venting on a hot day can be folded up small and carried in rucksack when not in use.
3. I wear it over body armour but it does come with built in armour. The number 1 choice for the off road rider. I went one size larger so I have the option for thin fleece and body armour together on cold days Built to last would highly recommend!!
