You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Tried 4 different makes of helmet and the Roof carbon was the best. Well made, great colour and very comfortable. Air vents work well to keep your head cool with the hot weather we've just had. Weight of the helmet is so light which was my main priority, Only one slight negative no internal drop down visor. But it comes with a dark visor replacement in the box which is quick to change. Jack was extremely helpful at the Sportsbikeshop in Birmingham, I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone.
This is my third Roof helmet and as usual it doesn't disappoint... the fit is perfect... comfy all around the head.. does not pinch yet it is snug.. vision is great, up, down left and right.. the weight of this helmet is ridiculous.. how Roof made it so light is anybodys guess... great for long journeys and easy to carry around when parked up... 10 out of ten.........
Wow, I knew it was going to be light when I bought it, but back to back with my other helmets, it's like a feather.
Fits nicely so sizing is correct.
Lots of ventialtion - more than any other helmet I've had.
No drop down sun visor (which I don't like anyway). Looks great. I can recommend.
A very well designed and crafted helmet. The small shell size and light weight make it very easy to move your head without much wind buffering. The two stage air vents make sure you get the right amount of ventilation in the right place. Roof always make very quiet lids and this is no exception.
I ordered the Roof Speeder carbon helmet, as I have an ongoing neck problem, and wanted a light helmet.
Wow! What a difference 500g makes! I did wonder if there was actually a helmet in the box when it arrived.
The fit for me, is spot on (59/L). The lining is not the plushest, but is very comfortable in any case. Removable cheek pads give reassurance, the pinlock insert works well, and the inclusion of a tinted visor along with the clear, is a definite plus.
In use, the lightweight nature of the helmet gives my neck an easy time, and on my Street Triple at least, there is zero buffeting for 95% of the time. The peripheral vision is also excellent.
Thanks to Sportsbikeshop, not only was it delivered quickly, but the discounted price, was amazing.
If you're looking for a great lightweight helmet, give this a try!
On paper this ticked all the right boxes. I've used Shoei helmets for decades but I knew SBS would have a no quibble returns so went ahead with the order. My only concern was head shape and size, I usually buy 61/62cm and this was 61cm but I needn't have worried as it fits just like my Shoei... and the weight, wow, never worn a lid that weighed just over 1Kg! Double D fasteners, wide angle pinlock visor which uses friction to stay exactly where you put it, minimal wind noise... this lid just oozes quality from every angle. Lots of vents to fiddle with and you get a chin guard and nose guard in the box so you can vary the amounts of fresh air depending on season. Bonus is the dark smoke visor (race only) which looks stunning on, and rucksack helmet bag!
The RO 200 Carbon has been developed over several years and will now enable Roof to re-establish itself back onto the road and track with a dedicated full-face racing helmet.
