If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers generally appreciated the quality and comfort of the trousers, emphasizing their well-made design and effectiveness in keeping warm and dry. However, many repeatedly noted the notorious sizing issues, needing to size up, sometimes significantly, to achieve the right fit. Despite these challenges, the trousers were praised for their great fit once the correct size was found, with added features like knee protection and multiple pockets enhancing their functionality. Many considered them a solid investment and potentially waterproof, though some details like hip protection seemed lacking for the price.
I wanted a pant to wear Spring and Autumn and these are just right. Lightweight, waterproof and comfortable with minimum intrusion from the very thin armour. I am not a fan of velcro closing on the pockets so have modified it to press studs. I tried the jacket and ended up with them both which were a bargain at the offer price
Large was a good fit for my 33 waist, great trousers that match perfectly with the V2 Andes jacket. SBS great as always.
Great pair of trousers, not had a problem in the rain with them , kept me dry. Very comfortable and inner liner is very warm. Also has great vents for the summer.
Only thing I didn’t like was with a bigger waste size the leg length is big.
Once I lost weight I fitted the waste size with a shorter leg and they’re absolutely perfect now.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these waterproof and protective trousers but was a little disappointed that I had to pay (circa) another £18 for the hip protectors and feel these should be included in the price (which isn't cheap). I did find that they are slightly small at 4XL but managed to do them up by breathing in and contracting my belly muscles. The braces are a good addition as I can never get a belt to keep my trousers up and these trousers also zip to my Alpinestars matching jacket to provide an integrated garment. The ability to open up the leg bottoms to go over my boots is also useful and will prevent rain from running down into them. There are air vents to allow cooling but removing the thermal lining is probably enough for me when the temperatures are high. All-in-all, a good pair of motorcycle trousers for inclement weather and well recommended
I bought these trousers to match with my jacket. Its important to know that the sizes are off for the UK. I'm 13st , 32 waist abd 33 IL and needed an XL. Fantastic product for all weather. Removable lining. There very comfortable. Great for short and long Riding. Great protection throughout the trousers. Highly recommended with or without the jacket.
I’m 6’2 and wear a 32/34 waist depending on brand. I know these come up smaller from previous owned garments. I ordered the xl in these and they are a terrific fit. Definitely long enough in the leg so they don’t ride half way up your boots like others! Superb value, terrific quality and super comfortable. Defo recommend. As usual super fast delivery from SBS
Tried on in store before purchase as sizing always a problem depending on make. Bought jacket in large but trousers in medium as large too big. Medium is a bit snug so I’ll lay off the pies for a while, but still a good fit. Bought kit based on other people’s reviews but yet to put to the test.
Great jeans. soft padding on the knees is good for the long distance stuff. easliy goes over boots. braces make it comfy and hold up well. Also zips into other Alpinstars jackets. no complaints,
Already have the jacket (that has never leaked).so was a no brainier. Nice and warm. Sportsbikeshop had all sizes in stock to try too, top shop !!!
Bought these for a tour of Scotland. Comfortable, great fit (Go up a size) but most importantly they are 100% waterproof. The good old Scottish weather gave them a right good test. Would highly recommend
Never having owning Alpinestars before, was a little bit sceptical, however after reading the reviews and I do like the design, I took the plunge and ordered a larger size (as per other reviews suggested).
I found the trousers is very comfortable, seems very well made, and warm, not tested the waterproof yet as waiting for the weather to catch me out.
Otherwise very happy with the trousers, I did read that some reviews that the trousers felt slippery on the seat, but I didn't find this at all, I do ride a Honda VFR 800 Crossrunner, but never experienced the trousers sliding.
Don’t usually ride in textile gear, but I’ve just bought a GS and was looking for comfortable waterproof touring kit. These fit the bill perfectly. Comfortable, waterproof and with flexible armour in the knees and pockets for optional hip armour. The thermal lining is removable and zipped vents in the thighs allow for good ventilation on hot days. There’s good Velcro adjustments too that stop them riding up over my boots. Bought the matching jacket (equally good) and the two have a full joining zip. Overall very Happy
I've just used these trousers on a recent trip and they performed really well with both sunny and rainy conditions. I used them in a prolonged period of light to medium rain without 'overproofs' and no leakage. However not used in particularly heavy rain so I couldn't comment on that.
Its a shame they don't do them to color match the blue jacket, but still looks good with the black.
One defect I found was that the fabric tab that holds the braces plastic clip to the trousers had some loose or frayed fabric in it, so wouldn't let the clip pass through very easily. Just in the process of trying to get them fixed or replaced with SBK Shop.
Other than that very comfortable and liners that easily remove.
Sizing sems on the small side so order a size up.
They are comfortable, waterproof and look great. For me, with a 31” inside leg, they are a little long when walking about but great when seated on the bike. I’d prefer if they were an inch shorter but it’s not a deal breaker.
Worn these through all kinds of weather conditions up here in the Scottish Highlands from the heaviest rainfalls to 25 degrees. Perfect touring pants, I have worn these for 200-300 mile day trips and cannot complain at all. The leg vents are a saviour in hot weather!
I bought a couple of sets from SPORTSBIKESHOP and can’t complain with the customer service offered and returns. The Alpinestars are just great quality, feel so much better then other makes I tried only thing I had to do was upsize on the trousers. Jacket was perfect fitment
Feel comfortable on but had to go a size bigger as I’m usually 32” waist (L) so went for a XL . Have yet to try them out in wet weather but other reviews say they’re good.
Following the reviews on being tight I thought I'd take the chance and order the correct size. They are snug but they do fit. Actually advise you use the correct leg length though and not go shorter.
Overall they are great and warm, my only bugbear is that the thermal liner often wants to come out when taking the trousers off.

Providing both items have the same type of connection zip (short / long) then they will be able to be connected together no trouble at all.
