If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Nice fit an comfortable, not so keen on the position of the sleeve buttons on the liner should of been nearer the cuffs
Find the zip fiddly due to the bottom opening zipper which really isn't necessary on jacket this
length
Haven't been caught in the rain yet so unable to comment on how waterproof it is.
comfortable, versatile and looks good. Fantastic option for budget friendly version of another brand. The only thing that lets it down is the cheap polyester lined sleeves.
Excellent fit.
Superbly warm and toasty on a cold wet ride down the M1.
Plenty of pocket space. Only thing I don't like is the neck buckle, prefer Velcro but I knew this was the collar type when I bought it.
Can't find fault yet and it's covered over 200 miles already in rain and sun
The coat is a perfect medium fit,
The design reminds me of the old days, but the wax type cotton that this jacket in manufactured from does not cover everything and everybody in oil, like the old days.
I just love it, I am 72 years of age and this jacket looks great with my monkey bike
This jacket is well made, comfortable and fits really well in all the right places and the Sportsbikeshop price was brilliant.
Stylish jacket at less than half the price of the very similar Belstaff. Fits well and seemed well made. I'd prefer softer armor in the elbows but I could change that myself.
I bought the Richa Scrambler 2 jacket as a casual riding jacket for day use. I've worn it only the one time so far but am very happy with the fit and comfort. Sizing as stated
I purchased this retro style jacket specifically to wear on my Bonneville but I think it also looks ok on my GS. I tried this and Oxford's Hardy jacket back to back at Motorcycle Live in November. Personally I don't think the Hardy looks as good as so I plumped fro the Scrambler instead. The Hardy is also more expensive but, unlike the Scrambler, it does have vents so comfort might be superior to the Scrambler in very warm weather? Sizing for me varies between these two brands. I'm a 2XL in the Hardy but XL in the Scrambler. The Scrambler does look a bit big on the shoulders compared to the Hardy as some other purchasers have also found. Overall quality of the Scrambler is good, although there were a couple of issues on mine. One of the two studs used for attaching the bottom of the quilted inner liner to the jacket fell apart when I removed the liner the first time. However I managed to re-attach the stud using a hammer and punch and it now looks secure enough. A few replacement studs are provided so possibly this is a common issue. Also the jacket cotton lining was not stitched to the jacket inner seam very neatly in one area and was about to pull apart from the seam. 'Her indoors' was able to undo the stitching, adjust the lining and re-stitch this area acceptably. I could have returned the jacket to SBS, who I'm sure would have replaced it without quibble, but I decided it wasn't worth the hassle as DIY repairs could be done be done fairly easily. Had there been issues affecting the safety or external appearance of the jacket I would have had it replaced. Had it not been for these two issues I would have awarded 5 stars. The jacket came with a stout hanger and a zipped cover which should ensure wax doesn't transfer to any other garment in the cupboard. The jacket is warm enough for me at 8c with inner liner attached. I will have to wait until summer to see how it performs on warm days minus the liner. I've not yet tested the jacket in rain. The jacket arrived less than 24 hrs after ordering with free shipping. Usual great service from SBS and courier partner DPD.
I love everything about this jacket. I bought it because I'd recently taken ownership of a scrambler and wanted something that looked right to go with it. The jacket looks great (certainly the best looking of all of the 'scrambler' jackets that I've seen to date), fits like a glove and was exactly what I wanted. I preferred the green over the black. The look speaks for itself and quality is first class. I've been wearing it without the liner and only a tee shirt underneath. No problems so far, but it hasn't rained yet so I can't comment on its waterproofing. Size wise I would advise ordering a size larger than you would normally.
I was delighted with the quality and look of this jacket. Sturdy and well made, very nicely packed and delivered with the usual prompt and efficient Sporstbikeshop service. If in doubt about the size, go for the larger one as sizing is a little on the conservative side.
Superb jacket, well made, really pleased.
This is a really well made jacket and very comfortable to wear with plenty of adjustable bits hear and there to suit most people, Kept me completely dry during a ride out in the rain for a bikers funeral so that cheered me up a bit, Can't fault the jacket at all and the sales team at sports bike shop are amazing, really helpful and responded to my emails straight away as I ordered it on line, and I found the size was true for myself, so well worth the money.
I bought this to wear as an alternative to my leather jacket. Fit is excellent but I did go up a size as I've learned with my other Richa clothing that sizes can be a bit snug. Jacket looks great with jeans giving a real retro feel. It's warm with the liner in and I'm hoping the jacket will be cooler than my leather jacket in the warmer months with the liner removed. Overall I'm really happy with it.
just luv this jacket , top quality at a great price. warm and waterproof, and looks great , my only dislike is the neck buckle feels a bit weak , other than that first class
It really looks the part with the style and wax cotton material. The quality is really good and nothing on it feels cheap. They've given lots of adjustable bits around the biceps, wrists and waist to tailor the fit to however you want which is nice. The thermal liner that can be zipped out is a nice addition and really makes a difference. I've ridden in 10-14 degrees with it and don't feel cold in the slightest with just a t shirt underneath, but also ridden without it on hotter days and it doesn't feel stuffy
Only downside is doing up the top can be pretty fiddly with gloves on and would have been much easier with just a button, but I get it adds to the style of the jacket and it's not too hard to just take a glove off if you need to
I'm 5'6 with a 40/41 inch chest but have quite a large belly, I originally bought an XL which just looked bulky and silly so exchanged down to a L (which sportsbikeshop were great with) and if fits me really nicely. If you're similar to me but slim I would definitely recommend a medium though
