Richa Clothing

High performance leather and textile clothing from Richa

The Richa name goes back to the 1950s and its motorcycle heritage began in 1977 when the founder's son, Luc Rigaux, started making bike clothing under the name of the family business. Richa has gone from strength to strength in the years since, becoming the biggest manufacturer of bike clothing in the Benelux countries. Richa, which is pronounced Reesha, has partnered with some of the biggest technical companies in the world, introducing D3O armour to their range in 2014, and following that up the following year with the prized Gore-Tex waterproof membrane. Richa is a hugely popular name with our customers - just check out their reviews for proof of that!

Richa Motorcycle Outdoor Cover - Black Richa Motorcycle Outdoor Cover - Black
I've only tested this once, but the medium size fits my MT-10 perfectly - not too tight, goes over the mirrors easily too. It has a strap with a buckle underneath too that goes under the bike. It's very thin so I wouldn't expect it to be hard wearing in the weather, but for security it's great.

Richa Atomic Prime Jacket - Navy Richa Atomic Prime Jacket - Navy
fits well and is comfortable when riding and off the bike.
Naturally less protective than a leather jacket but I’m happy with what it offers.
Next size up is recommended, I’m a L usually but mine is XL and I wouldn’t want it any tighter

Good quality, size is accurate great for summer use, slightly tight around the forearm and wrist but not a problem for me but best to try before you buy, and as always a big thanks to the staff at Leeds

Richa D3O Diablo Level 2 Protectors - Knee / Elbow Richa D3O Diablo Level 2 Protectors - Knee / Elbow
I’ve now swapped every item of motorcycle clothing I own over to D3O Diablo Level 2 armour. No exceptions.

It isn’t cheap, but it is exceptional. The protection level is excellent, but what really sets it apart is how thin, flexible and comfortable it is compared with older Level 2 armour. It is a world away from the bulky, chunky inserts we were used to only a few years ago.

It works brilliantly because it moves with you rather than feeling like rigid armour strapped into your clothing. You literally can't tell it's there. The ventilation is also outstanding - genuinely better airflow than any other armour I’ve ever seen or used, including D3O's own Ghost armour, so it's ideally suited for both laminated gore-tex kit where your body needs to breathe, but also in summer where airflow through the jacket/trousers would otherwise be stopped by less vented armour.

I have even just this week tried Klim’s new Rogue Level 2 armour. As all my kit is Klim, I wanted to stay brand loyal, but I have to say I still much prefer the Diablo. and wont be swapping to Rogue. It is more flexible, thinner, and the difference in airflow is immeasurable, if there is any.

Diablo Level 2 is also the lightest level 2 armour you can buy - at just 96 grams (for shoulder armour) - Vs 111 grams for Klims Rogue Level 2, or the frankly antequated original D3O level 2 at 143 grams.

Original D3O L2 shoulder armour is 15.7mm thick, Klims Rogue L2 is 10mm and Diablo L2 is just 8mm thick.

For me, this is now the benchmark. Expensive, but absolutely worth it. What price do you put on all day comfort and the best safety, combined with being the lightest and thinnest?

Richa Rain Stretch Waterproof Trousers - Black Richa Rain Stretch Waterproof Trousers - Black
These Richa waterproof over trousers are a step above standard over-garment waterproofs. The quality of the materials is immediately noticeable, with a comfortable feel that doesn’t have the stiff, plastic-like texture often found in waterproof overtrousers. The fit is excellent, offering plenty of room to wear over riding gear without feeling bulky or restrictive. Breathability is another standout feature, helping to keep you comfortable on longer rides and in changing weather conditions. As expected from Richa, the build quality is superb, and the service from Superbikeshop was excellent as always. Highly recommended.
