Advice & Guides We can’t all cross the River Humber with one stride. Here’s our pick of the best trews for those of us who need a shorter inside leg...

Customers have shared positive feedback on the trousers, praising their waterproof quality, comfort, and thermal warmth, with some mentioning impeccable fit and sizing. Many appreciate the included braces and armor. Ventilation seems to perform effectively in various climates. However, some customers noted issues with excess material or fit around the ankle and pockets. Overall, they are highlighted as good value, durable, and a reliable choice for different weather conditions. A few mentioned leaks under heavy rain, which was a minor drawback.
Is what I would like to say as the man in the shop at Preston that served me could not be any more helpful if he tried. Absolutely brilliant guy. Absolutely! So helpful I will be going back to the shop at Preston very soon and I would like the management that is his boss to ring the man up who served me and just say doing a good job. I'll even give the lad a pair of the motorbike gloves because he's a motorbiker himself
The protection from the wind, rain, and cold is brilliant. Very warm with the liner in.
However, the bottom of the legs is so wide on an XL, even with the velcro tightened all the way. I don't see why a bigger waist size requires massive ankles! Even with the chunkiest boots on there's be tonnes of room.
Also found the crotch really tight once seated on the bike. Taking out the hip armour has helped a bit but all in all they're just an oddly shaped and fitting pair of trousers.
They really are waterproof and warm, velcro leg flaps might be a problem long term, but being able to order in a couple of different styles to try on and the customer service was fantastic
2 day trip through Wales with quite a lot of torrential rain and they never leaked. Very comfy both on and off the bike. Well recommended!
Great fit hot and cold ride have performed great would buy again water resistance is good but prolonged rain riding you may get wet bum
Its nice I really like it but the quality not like I expected
I tried these trousers on at the Bristol branch, on the whole I found the fit good, and they are comfortable. The bracers work well and stop the trousers pulling down. For laminated trousers the price I feel is really good value for money. Recently been touring Scotland, and they are waterproof, only get damp inside once, but this was due to me leaving the vents open. I ve found the thermal liner to be warm, I rode at temperature down to 6 degrees C and felt fine, I m not sure if I would have been warm much below this though. I ve got a 31 inside leg, I purchased a regular leg length, this felt fine when I tried on in the shop, but after riding I think the longer leg might have been better, they work fine though so I m keeping.
Really great help from the staff at Bristol, so all brillant, I would def buy these again.
Great pair of jeans for round the year riding. Used in subzero temperatures for my 1 hour commutes and it kept me comfortable. Keeps you dry in pouring rain when used correctly. Can't recommend it enough. Pity if it is discontinued
I was looking for something light and waterproof. These Oxford pants are great. I have not yet tested this on the bike in the rain, but it's laminated membrane material, so it will be waterproof. This fit is also really nice and comfortable.
Not the most comfortable trousers I've worn but kept me dry in torrential rain (not like the Hinterland Jacket.) I would not buy again.
Great fit and was the perfect length. Only wore them twice but felt comfortable and warm with the weather we have had.
Good fit and comfortable using the bracers.
Got a draft up right hand leg when riding as not enough adjustment at bottom of legs to tighten them.
Not tried them in the wet yet.
Well fitting trousers, comfortable definitely waterproof easy to walk about in. But bottom of trousers are terrible unless your wearing two pair of boots never going to get decent seal around boots. I'd still give 4 stars
Warm and waterproof so far. I've not used them yet in heavy rain when I'd be able to make a better assessment. Quality seems very good as was the price. My first Sportsbikeshop retail outlet purchase and the service lived up to the multiple good reviews I've seen in the past. Thank you.
Great fit, well made product with useful braces included. Not had a chance to test how waterproof yet.
Nice to have a short leg version. Most bike kit is far to long for my 'prop forward' shape.
I bought these as part of the full suit. They fit, look ok and so far have been waterproof (the 2 year warranty is reassuring). I've scored them at 4 because the lower leg velcro to allow you to wrap the lower leg around your boot doesn't extend far enough, meaning that unless you're wearing big winter boots it's left too loose. Otherwise pleased and to be fair it won't kill me!!!
This is the second set of these Jacket and trousers I have bought.
The first set is still going strong, still fully waterproof, just a little snug as I gave "grown" lol
When I saw the price for both, probably as they are at the end of their production, I knew it was a great buy.
The set have never let me down, I highly recommend it, and as always with quick service from Sportbikeshop. Thank you.
The Hinterland jeans employ Dry2Dry Trilaminate materials which offer outstanding waterproofing, breathability, tear strength and abrasion resistance - the latter resulting in an impressive AA CE approval. WarmDry insulation and Polartec stretch fabrics take warmth to a new level.
