Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

Customers have shared varied experiences with these trousers. While some found them to be warm, comfortable, and true to size, others had issues with waterproofing, particularly at the crutch seam, and found the knee pads uncomfortable. The built-in braces and removable thermal liner were appreciated, though they may cause inconvenience. Some customers noted concerns over material thickness and durability compared to other brands. Overall, many found them a good fit for colder weather and their overall performance satisfactory.
Fantastic trousers and service from sportsbikeshop.co.uk
I bought these trousers 2 weeks ago for a trip to the Brecon Beacons in Feb (yes, I know!), expecting rain. Well, they got a full power trial with snow, hail, light rain, torrential rain, lightning storm, drizzle and mizzle. Utterly bone dry and warm throughout. I did think at one point I had sprung a leak but it turns out that was the water gathering on my seat that dropped the temperature in the region but as soon as I stood on the pegs, the water poured off and a quick manual check proved all was well in the boxers. For the price and quality I can’t recommend them highly enough. Good features, very comfortable, warm and dry. Spot on.
I commited daily in my previous pair for 3 winters before they leaked. As soon as they failed I bought another pair. I wear them over my work trousers, so haven't used the thermal liner, but not been cold in them.
The bracers are great for preventing drafts around the lower back.
These are very good value, very warm and waterproof. Only downside is mentioned above, get one size bigger.
Needed new trousers and these match my jacket.
The fit was good and true to size ive not tried them yet in the rain but ime really pleased with the quality.
I have to say that I like Oxford products but never bought their clothing. So when I needed a new pair of trousers I thought I’d try these. I’m not disappointed. Well made and strong. Great leg sizes although I did needed to go up a size in the waist. They come with braces but also have an elastic adjustable waist band which is better.
Great value for the features and functions. Fit is as expected and comfortable to wear. Not tested the waterproof properties yet but all good so far.
I'm not a fan of trousers but these are great. The fit is good, perhaps a bit on the small side, and they're almost too warm over a thermal base layer. The included braces are excellent and help keep everything in place. Great value too
Comfortable, dry and warm. Plenty of size options
Nice fit although I would have preferred 34" leg. Only 32" available. I'm 6'2". Braves nice extra.
Followed the guide but ended up with a pair way too big but returned them no hassle, got full refund and now have a replacement pair. Reallly happy with the quick turnaround
I got these alongside the oxford jacket as a loan from sportsbikeshop whilst my Alpinestars Andes v3 gear was on a warranty claim.
What I can easily say is that even my faulty alpinestars was much better than this. These trousers are not waterproof, at least not on either of the two rides I used them on (2hrs and 116 miles each way on a cb500f).
They were also quite bulky with the hard armour not conforming to shape like the A* flex armour that you now get.
I felt the zip together was a token gesture with about a 6 inch strip at the back that didnt feel very secure at all, plus no weather benefit there either. The braces are velcro looped onto the trousers which means extra straps to tangle up in as you get kitted up.
I also found I couldn't quite get them to not pull tight against my knee on the bike, though I was also wearing an extra pair of trousers and underlayer beneath them.
They are cheap, and there is a reason for that. I generally find oxford stuff to be good quality but coming from (even warranty failing) alpinestars gear maybe I have become a bit spoiled with what better stuff there is out there!
Good fit and braces are an added bonus, warm just waiting to try them out in the rain
These are well made waterproof trousers with braces to hold them up. Great price and instant delivery as always from SBS
I'm not normally a winter rider, because, well, BRRR, man, so I have armoured kevlar jeans, but my bike has a product safety recall and I must have it up to the menders' in Tamworth, in JANUARY. Ugh. Seriously? So, I need a pair of pants that will keep me warm for a 20 mile trip when it could well be *freezing*. Well, at least these will keep me pretty snug.
I like these trousers - I ride almost every day thru all weathers and so far these have kept me dry and warm in very heavy rain and temperatures down to “feels like” -4. I found the sizing to be accurate and my only doubt are the braces which look as tho they will not last as long as the trousers. I would recommend them for day to day UK riding.
Sizing was spot on, trousers are comfortable - totally windproof and warm - yet to try in ert
