Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

The Oxford Montreal trousers receive mixed feedback, with customers praising their warmth, comfort, and waterproof capabilities. The built-in braces and knee protection add value, though some dislike the flimsy feel of the material and missing hip armor. The fitting varies; customers suggest considering a larger size. While the product is deemed valuable for its price, opinions differ on durability. Despite some complaints about inner lining issues and closures, many find them satisfactory for colder conditions.
Love the fit of them Knee pads were irritating at the start but have settled down now. Worn for 1 winter and have worn well. Would recommend.
Mainly the price. Bargain at £85. Look good. Decent pockets. Thermals are easy to get in and out. Only tried in light rain once so far and they were fine but can’t comment on waterproofing in a deluge, hence one star off. Cool enough when it’s hot too. In short typical Oxford quality at a sensible price.
I ordered these pants 1 size up after reading they come up small. Well, in my experience they don't. These pants fit true to size. Luckily there is enough waist adjustment to pull them in about 2". Unlike some other Oxford pants I own, these are not as baggy in the leg and the leg closure works better.
The fabric feels durable but it is a bit stiff but I am sure they will wear in. The lining is super warm so I doubt that I will keep it in place. I prefer microfibre leggings to regulate my body temperature.
The regular inside leg length (32") is about perfect with boots. (I am 6ft tall).
My only gripe is the pop stud waist fastener. It doesn't stay locked. I will have to find a better solution.
So far I am impressed with the quality and comfort of these trousers for the price. I followed advice from reviews I had looked at and went a size bigger which allows me to put them on over a pair of jeans if needed. I haven’t worn them in the rain yet so can’t comment on water resistants.
I ordered these trousers alongside the Mondial Advanced and opted for these as they were are far better fit overall. The mondials were very baggy in the leg. I’m 5ft 10 with a 32-34 waist and size small was a great fit. Oddly, I couldn’t even do up the Mondial’s in the same size! The knee protection stays in place on and off the bike and the hem cinches up well around my boots. My only criticism is the leg vents on the legs that aren’t direct air meaning they only vent as far as the waterproof membrane.
They are really comfortable, very warm, I had to remove the inner liner for the time being! Love the built in braces. sizing is pretty good. all in all good value
Some previous reviews had said these come up small so to go with next size up so I used the order and try on before you buy option to order both sizes into my local store and actually found my normal size was ok a little loose but this depends on what you wear under them I suppose I am using them currently without the thermal layer which is removable as it only zips in due to the warmer days so far which makes them slightly looser but I did get my normal size as when used with the thermal layer they fit just right well recommend product and the shop in Birmingham both are great the staff are always very friendly and helpful
I bought the long ones because as bikers no your trousers can ride up when your on the bike, these are spot on and come with a good pair of braces.
I had found it difficult to find the trousers that I wanted for people with a shorter left. I’m 5,9
So not super short, but the longer trousers sometimes hand and make it difficult to get your leg over (the bike ?)
These fit perfectly… lovely for… have the braces that keep them well under a jacket.
Great trousers. The material is robust and I like the built in braces. Has knee protection included and removable thermal layer. The materials are thick so perfectly suited to winter use. Only downside is that you’d need to order one size up, for me that was well known from reviews.
They come up on the small side so I went for a size larger. Plenty of adjustment means a perfect fit and they feel solidly made.
Day 1 comfort but not yet tested in any significant rain.
Great Brand, Great Trousers, Great Price, Great Shop!
Got these to replace an older pair of Oxford trousers (they never let me down, I needed a bigger size)the Montreal fit perfectly true to size only had them on 6 times but all good and the price was ok
Very comformable trousers, arrived very quickly.
The guys in the Boston shop are great. Really knowledgeable and very efficient. The trousers are great, had all sizes in stock. Only thing was that i thought it would have a full length zip to connect to the jacket but its a small thing and i guess it makes it easier to mix and match.
Really good quality. Replacement for previous Oxford trousers. Would prefer zip legs as apposed to velcro but just my preference and does not take away from the product. Very pleased.
Unfortunately, I've either got fatter or these are not the same size as the other 3 pairs I have, which do fit me. Shame, returns are always straight forward with Sportsbikeshop!
