Klim Teton Merino Short Sleeve Shirt - Blue

I’ve already reviewed this shirt (several times) before, but this one’s in a different colour and I don’t mind repeating myself because they are that good.

I originally thought spending this much on a T-shirt was madness. Fast forward a few years and I’ve now got ten Klim merino tops across different colours and sleeve lengths. They’re what I reach for whether I’m riding, travelling or just relaxing at home. They’re comfortable in pretty much any weather, don’t pong after a day’s wear like most synthetic tops, and they’re still looking great despite getting worn week in, week out.

I still hand wash every single one in cold water and let them air dry after my first one shrank. Since doing that I’ve had zero issues.

They’re undeniably expensive, but I’ve got some that have been in regular weekly rotation for over three years and they’re still going strong. They last, they’re ridiculously comfortable, and I honestly can’t fault them.

When I wrote my first review I said I couldn’t justify buying another one at £75. Fast forward a bit and I’ve somehow ended up with ten of them. Some short sleeve, some long sleeve, a mix of blue and grey… so I suppose that tells you what I really think of them.

They’re just ridiculously comfortable. Whether I’m riding, travelling, walking the dog or just chilling at home, nine times out of ten I’m wearing one of these. They cope brilliantly in hot weather, don’t seem to get smelly anywhere near as quickly as normal T-shirts, and they stay comfortable all day. In fact, I’m wearing one while writing this.

The only thing I’d say is treat them with a bit of respect. My first one shrank, so every single one since has been hand washed in cold water and hung out on the line to dry. I’ve not had a problem since.

Yes, they’re eye-wateringly expensive for what is, at the end of the day, a T-shirt. But somehow I’ve ended up with ten of them… and I still catch myself looking when SBS has a sale on. That probably says more than any review ever could.

Expensive, but I’ve now got some that have been worn weekly for 3+ years and they’re still going strong. They last. They’re super comfy. Zero complaints.

I got this to do a bike tour of northern Spain and back up through France. It was the hottest week of the summer, up to 45c one day so we were sweating and it was unrelenting. The merino top did as good a job as you could expect, but what I really wanted was the fact that it dried quickly, was comfortable and didn’t smell. I wore it for three days and those were all the case so I would definitely recommend it.

This is definitely one of those “it’s a £75 t-shirt?!” bits of kit that you only appreciate after you’ve worn it properly.

My first one shrank after a couple of washes (even following the label), but credit to SportsBikeShop - they sorted a replacement really quickly. The new one’s been hand-washed (in stone cold water) only and it’s held up well now.

Wore it almost daily in Florida in 35°C+ heat doing long days in theme parks and it was absolutely superb - light, breathable, and didn’t feel gross even after hours of sweating.

Not just for bikes, this one’s become my go-to for any hot-weather trip. I still can't bring myself to get another at £75 though, so if they're ever on offer from SBS, grab one!
