RST Pro Series Commander CE Textile Jacket - Black / Black

I had the commander ce in silver for a few years, and it was great in summer with the vents open, and the pockets are great for space as well.
because its a lamintaed jacket it is waterproof on the out side wich is what all the rst jackets should be, why rst came up with the idea of a waterproof inner on some of the other garments is just stupid to me living in the uk.
the zips are great and the vents when open do work on the hot days in summer.
I chose to buy it again but this time in black because for some reason the grey/silver version i was finding car drivers were looking right through me and on a few occassions some did go to pull out.
the fit is sport on and always has been with all the rst gear i have bought over the years.

The Jacket has good safety features, fits well and is a reasonable price.

Well made and well specified jacket, only two vents on the front may make it a bit warm on warmer days, yet to be seen, but supper warm and wind tight on colder mornings. Received a complete dud of a jacket first time round, which was a shame, bad stitching and definitely a second if not worst when compared to the replacement that was sent. Great service from SBS when I sent photos of all the faults, no quibble replacement. Overall happy.

Purchased the commander jacket and trousers recently, it's early days but really good fit true to sizing chart, they feel robustly made and quality, can't comment on water resistance yet but they are warm with the the lining on spring mornings, plus a great discount on a top range RST jacket

Ordered a few different RST jackets as wasn't sure which one to go for. Went with the commander one and returned the rest. This jacket fits me so well. I'm usually 2XL in my motorcycle jackets and this is what I ordered. The adjustment is great and it fits me like a glove. Arm length is spot on.
Not tested the waterproofness and don't intend to either. It's certainly windproof and kept me toasty warm when riding in 4 degrees.
The armour feels really good to me. Feels a little hard on the elbows at first when I put the jacket on but they seem to soften after a short while. They're kept in the right place by the great fit of the jacket.
More than happy with it and expect it to last a good few years.
Sportsbikeshop's service is just excellent too. Mega quick delivery and processed the return of the other jackets equally quickly. We'll done guys.

UK made so sizes more accurate, feels like a quality product. Windproof and warm. Good pocket storage . Velcro fastening on wrists so can get gloves underneath jacket. Easy to attach pants to jacket. Collar slightly stiff but can live with it , zipped back pocket handy , zip is underneath flap? , front vents underneath flaps worked ok sub 50mph, flapped around a bit faster speeds, armour feels quality. Quality zip covered by a storm flap that also zips up only been out in drizzle water beaded off . Pleased overall with this jacket,

Excellent jacket - inner waterproof liner easily removable, extremely warm for biking around in the winter months, been out in pouring down rain and it kept me dry with no damp spots

Knowing what I wanted, Sportsbikeshop were competitive on price an quick delivery. Cannot fault service. Quality will be checked when heavy downpour.

Good quality (certainly better than my previous Alpinestars gear) and a good fit. Haven't had it out in the rain yet, so I can't comment on the waterproofing. It feels very solid and protective - my old gear wasn't AA or level 2 and there is a certainly a difference.

Had this jacket getting on for 8 weeks now, needed a replacement for my last RST purchase which I had used for years without issue.
However on day one, went to hang jacket on work locker, the internal loop just pulled away due to bad stitching.
On another occasion I reached into the internal jacket pocket to get my mobile phone and again the stitching has come away and the corner of the pocket pulled loose.
Winter is coming and on my 5am commute into work I can already tell this jacket is not going to keep me warm, will need extra layers as the temps drop.
Overall I'm very disappointed, RST are usually my go to brand but will think again next time, jacket seems to be poorly constructed and I've had better quality items from RST in the past.

Although appearing well made and comfortable, in heavy rain it leaked. Jacket purchased for a riding trip to Scotland and was used for a total of five days. On our return home in very heavy rain the double zip arrangement let water through - wetting my T-shirt. Disappointing performance for a jacket at this price point.

So far it has been great. Warmer than any jacket I've owned and with better ventilation. Plenty of pockets, all with waterproof zips and flaps. It is heavy, but comfortable, and sits low past my waist which is great for bad weather riding.

I am an M is most clothing and went for an M in this and found that to be right. Even though RST say an M is for a larger chest size than I have. Go by your usual clothing size.

Only have two niggles. The arms are a bit long for me. And I wish the interior chest pocket was between the inside and outside main zip, so I don't have to undo both to get to my phone and wallet. But neither of these are deal breakers for an otherwise brilliant bit of kit.

Having had a RST textile jacket for over 10 years, it was finally time to get an upgrade! The Commander came up in my top 5 with it's laminated waterproofing, along with the many strong reviews. First off, the jacket isn't flashy in appearance but very functional. Zippers are in the right place and most importantly; work (hate it when they regularly get hung up on underlaying fabrics).
The armour is good quality and adjustable in minutes. The collar is a great feature, and I love the ease of the venting system. The addition of the magnets make a nice touch!
All in, the jacket was under £300 but feels like it's much more. Especially in the rain. No leakage, and even at the collar nothing got through. Haven't zipped them up to my RST Paragon trousers for a rainy ride, but can confirm they zip up fine.
All in all, a great investment for years of dry riding in most (haven't used them in snow yet) conditions.

After looking for a high quality, reasonably priced waterproof textile jacket for some time, I came across the pro series commander. It's an excellent jacket which has the features and quality of one that is twice the price, or more. I tried on a number of similar jackets from RST as well as other brands and found that this came out on top in every aspect; quality, safety, fit and features. The jacket is true to size overall but snug with the insulating layer fitted, so if you intend on wearing additional heavy layers underneath then you may benefit from a size up.

Highly quality throughout and snug glove like feeling when riding. Runs true to size. Resisted heavy rain efficiently for 30 minutes, not tested for longer yet. After trying other brands, RST is the best quality at an affordable price and is a worthy investment. I went for XXXL instead of my usual XXL to allow comfortable winter layering.
