Scorpion Exo - 491 - Matt Black

It is a pretty quiet helmet and with the pinlock obviously it doesn't steam up. The sun visor is a bit difficult to drop with thick gloves on. Air vents actually work.

if she's happy everybody's happy

This is my third Scorpion helmet, for the price you get a stylish, light, comfy helmet it's my go to lid whenever I need a replacement.
I use this one for trackdays and have a modular flip front for road use I can't fault them , good wide view visor, easy to operate drop down sun shade , emergency pull out cheek pads should the worst happen. Slightly noisy but not a problem with ear plugs in.

Overall this helmet is not worth the cost. It would be more suited to the sub £100 range.

Bad Points

VISOR
The Visor has very little adjustment, It's either too far open or it's close, if you try to have it open at certain points it just slams closed at around 50mph and the bang is extremely loud.

VENTS
The Vents are difficult to press and DON'T actually vent, Even at motorway speeds it's not possible to feel the vents working.

FOG
THe Visor suffers from fogging on the bottom third that can only be rectified by having the visor open.

WIND NOISE
The wind noise experienced from this helmet from around 40mph onwards is excruciating.
The noise is so bad I can't even hear my Race exhaust over the wind noise.
I've had to buy earplugs to stop the pain the Tinnitus the noise creates which for me takes away from the experience of riding and makes it unsafe as i can hear other road users.

Good Points

SUN GLASSES
The Internal sunglasses are a nice feature

COMFORTABLE
Its fairly comfortable despite its weight.

BAG
It comes with a storage bag.

This helmet and the tinted visor is a superb combination, my other helmets are Shark and Bell, which have been good helmets, but this Scorpion one is on another level.
Its so quiet, with very minimal wind noise and the comfort, well all i can say is it's plush.
To say that after many years of riding and wearing various brands this has definately become my favourite by far and to top it off it was great value for money.
I'll absolutely be buying this brand again and definately be buying from SportsBikeShop again.
Choices are vast and super value for money.
