Scorpion Exo HX1 Carbon - Black / Gold

This helmet will make you stand out that's for sure, especially with the tinted visor. However the build quality is not as good as the packaging and price tag would suggest. The whole helmet looks like it was made of luxury materials but in reality, it feels cheap when you wear it. It's comfortable all right but this is the most noisy helmet I ever had.
- The air flow at the mouth is great but when it's on, the noise significantly increases in the helmet.
- The visor sometimes drops down 20% so this magnetic lock doesn't seem to always work
- Why did you put the sun-visor handle inside the helmet???!!! Every time you want to engage your shades, you have to open the visor, engage the shades, close your visor. That's 3 steps with one hand off the handlebar which could be just one step! Outright dangerous and very annoying.
- When I installed my Cardo, one of the plastic pins securing the cheekpad got damaged (I wasn't using any force, it popped out and the female connector came lose and twisted). It doesn't impact use and you can't see but again, it suggests that the build quality is not great at all.

My verdict is that if you are looking for a really good looking helmet and can live with the impracticality and less than adequate wind noise reduction - this helmet is for you. Otherwise, spend this money on a better quality helmet. Do not buy this helmet if you are riding a naked bike.

I love this helmet but after a couple months of riding the plastic section at the edge of the visor failed. Happened when I opened the visor to pull the shades down. No question I caught the edge of the trim section with a finger of my glove and it caused the trim clips to fracture.

I called in to request a replacement part thinking it would be covered by warranty and sent the pictures in. I was surprised when I was requested to send the whole helmet back. I use my bike daily and don't have a backup to use and therefore this is a deal breaker. Apparently the supplier needs to inspect the helmet despite the pictures I've sent.

So a warranty claim isn't going to work. I've looked at buying a replacement visor but they aren't easy to come by and expensive even for the clear one.

So for one reason or another I'm left with having to switch to the gold visor it ships with despite it being for track use only. A dogmatic approach to warranty claims means I can't return the part for a replacement I have to send the helmet.

I love the helmet but the actual quality of some of the parts is quite low and fragile. If you have an issue the dogmatic approach to the warranty process allowing only the return of the whole helmet isn't real world useable. Will buy my next helmet locally so I can get better support in the event of a failure. In the meantime tracking down a replacement clear visor which seem to be difficult to find
