Centre mounted reservoir cover works well on FJR 1

Using this on my FJR 1300, it's certainly positioned my phone (which I use for MyRouteApp SatNav) into a much better place than when it was attached to the main top yoke head-stock nut, where it was way out of the normal field of vision when riding and also made the ignition key harder to get to. I was initially apprehensive that it was using only the two central holes for mounting, and whether it would seal the brake fluid in fully when the leverage of the ram extension and large smartphone were attached to it, but it does do so. The screws supplied are a bit too long for the FJR though, so I did have to pack out each screw with four extra stainless M4 washers. I could have cut the screws down, but didn't want to do that in case it leaked and I wanted to send it back, but now I know I'm keeping it, I'll get round to it rather than persist with the extra washers. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and would buy it again. If only someone made a bespoke replacement reservoir cover specific to the FJR that didn't need a cover over the cover. :sigh:

March 17, 2025As this is a universal product, we don't have any bike specific compatibility available I'm afraid, however, being universal, we don't see any reason why it shouldn't be suitable.
