Knox Urbane Pro MK3 Armoured Shirt - Black

Bought this in the heatwave when I was cooking in my leather jacket. it's kind of a cross between a shirt and a jacket. lovely and airy on its own, goes well under something else. even looks pretty cool. it's going to be pretty useful for a lot of the year, whether on its own or layered up. not cheap but seems beautifully made too. 100% a good buy

Very breathable mesh, good level 2 armour coverage, thoughtful features and a decent fit make this a great choice for warmer weather. Yet to try it with layers over as it cools down or rains, but I like the versatility.

Recently purchased trousers was so impressed I bought the Jacket with the next level armour.
Fits brilliantly the armour stays in all the right positions making you feel protected should the need arise.
During this hot period I have been riding in just the suit which has kept me amazingly cool and for when the weather changes I can slip on optional clothing for warmth.

I tested lots of mesh jackets and some high end supposedly “high airflow” jackets like the Klim Marrakesh but none of them came close. The Knox Urbane MK3 was the only one that was suitable to wear in temperatures north of 25°C for any length of time and being AA rated to boot. I even wore it with a Dainese airbag on a long ride with temps over 30 and stayed relatively cool. The only jacket I’d consider in hot temperatures, a fantastic bit of kit for the summer. These are meant to be worn close to the skin and be a relatively tight fit but I found I needed a size up from my normal sizes. Sportsbikeshop customer service was fantastic as usual.

Feels very protective this shirt. The weight is its only downside,
It's very well made and feels very protective. Great in summer where i wear it with just a jersey over the top. It vents well.
Included protection is good but the whole thing is a little heavy. Saying that, can't say I really notice it when its on.

I've just bought the Knox Urbane Pro MK3 men's jacket in silver chain mail, and I look like a knight in shining armour, only kidding, it's more greyish than silver. I've got about a 42.5" chest, and I'm usually a large, but I had to buy the XL size (see pics). The problem I always have is that I've got wide shoulders, so sometimes clothing is a bit tight around that area. Plus, I also bought the chest armour for added protection, you have to factor that in as well. The jacket is very impressive, it's excellent quality, and best of all it's from a UK based company, Planet Knox, who are based in Cockermouth, Cumbria. I tested it out on the first really hot day we've had in 2026 in the UK, and what a result! I was very impressed with the airflow and the light weight, even with all the armour fitted. It was about 23°C in the shade, and I rode the whole afternoon for a good few hours in the hot sun wearing just the jacket. You could feel the airflow around your body; it kept me very cool, and it was extremely comfortable to wear. The jacket also looks great when you've got it on, as well, and I also like the way I'll be able to layer the garment up with my other gear when the seasons change. It means I'll be able to take the armour out of my leather and my Gore-Tex textile jacket, and wear the Urbane Pro underneath as base layer.

Every other "summer" motorbike jacket I've bought has made me sweat like a pig, and that includes my very expensive Klim Marrakesh! They simply didn't have the airflow of the Knox Urbane Pro because of their design and the materials used. After many expensive failures over the years, I've found what seems to be my perfect summer jacket, and at last my search is finally over. I highly recommend this summer mesh jacket if you're looking for one, it's well worth the money. Good luck, and ride safe.

Absolutely loving this urban shirt.
Fit like a glove from the moment I tried it on.
I buy 42" chest and bought a Large.. nice and snug.
I throw a hoody on over the top, the ringlets are great for keeping the sleeves in place, great touch.
You feel the air flow mainly on your arms, which is so nice when riding, leaving me nice and cool.
Elbow, shoulders and full back protection give you that confidence. I love it.
Would definitely buy again & recommend.

Hankering for one of these for quite a few yrs since they came out price, available sizes etc got in the way.
Managed to buy one for upcoming warmer weather alongside the duel pro jacket for cooker mornings. The vest/shirt is a godsend for cooling effect whether its at 40 + mph or in standing traffic.I tried the 2XL but settled on 3XL after help from a nice female member of staff helped out finding the 3XL on the shop floor.. 2XL Seemed like i was fighting for room going up a size give me more shoulder room/ arm length... two pockets on outside phone pocket inside samsung S24 ultra fits nicely.
Armour sits nice its quite heavy but reassuring colour silver/black is a nice contrasting colour i have long arms so fitted nice and do gym work so accommodating bigger builds. I love this and the duel pro jacket with liner fits like a glove in 2XL
Sportsbikeshop staff rushed off feet at boston but helpful.
