If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers generally praise this jacket for its high-quality construction, comfort, and versatility. Many find it protective and suitable for various weather conditions, with the option to layer or wear independently. The jacket is noted for its snug fit, though some face issues with sizing, requiring adjustments for optimal comfort. Despite its somewhat heavy feel, it provides ample protection and breathability, making it ideal for warm climates. Overall, it is highly recommended by customers for both aesthetic and functional purposes.
Wearing over tee-shirt is a revelation in hot weather. Now a pleasure to ride in hot weather.
This is the best out of 5 jackets I have its cool in the heat yet still windproof and warm enough on chilly days it even handles odd rain showers without you getting soaked to the bone.
This Jacket is really well put together.I'm a size large in tee shirts and the size large jacket fits perfectly. Great for hot days on it;s own, and good to know it can also be worn with layers (unlike my old vented jacket).
Comfortable, non intrusive armour - 5 stars
I've been wearing this shirt non stop during the recent warm weather, and it does a superb job in keeping you cooler than wearing a solid jacket. Only downside for me where the thumb elastic straps, but once these were cut off was so much more comfortable
I've been in the market for a jacket which I can wear in the blistering heat which we've had recently, and after popping into the MK branch I was shown the Knox range of under-armour including this. I picked one up the following weekend, and I can confidently say that this is hands down the best jacket I've ever owned. I have a textile and a leather both of which are great but this armoured shirt has it all. I've used it for hot rides in the British humid 30° heat and found that I barely sweat once I'm moving thanks to the mesh, and have even worn it beneath a waterproof for a couple wet rides. It's just a perfect piece of armour for the summer season, and I daresay it will fare well in the winter.
Pleasantly surprised with the quality and design of the product. I have a lot of leather and wax jackets and can now (more) safely wear these with the bike without having to splash out £250 each time I fancied a similar style in a motorcycle jacket.
The material seems very sturdy and gives confidence that it won’t disintegrate as soon as it comes into contact with the black stuff.
Have worn it by itself in this unusually hot weather and arrived at my destination fresh rather than looking like I had just ran the distance instead.
Would highly recommend.
Decided I needed something vented following the recent heatwave. The Urbane Pro 3 feels well put together. Sizing wise, the XL fits my 43 inch chest and feels snug, I have quite slim arms/forearms, so not quite as snug on those, however the thumb loops will stop any unwanted movement in the event of an accident. I am 6ft2 and the back protector is long enough to be confidence inspiring and covers just above my coccyx. Large vent panels on the chest allow good airflow whilst moving.
I ordered 2 sizes as I wasn’t sure which size was best. I’m usually an XL but I kept the L as it fitted more snuggly and the armour didn’t move on my shoulders and elbows. The venting works well and I wore it in central London in 32 degrees for the 1.5 hour commute to the south coast and it was great. I would have really struggled in my usual riding kit. Equally for the colder mornings layer up over the top and because it’s AA rated you can just chuck any old top on. Overall I love this thing it’s very versatile and comfy too.
Very comfortable and great for summer riding
The fit is great , I am normally large shirt size but went for the XL as the L was just a little too snug. I live in southern Spain and this shirt is ‘ Amazingly cool ‘ in the mid 30’s temps here. The armour is placed perfectly. One of the very best bits of kit I have bought over many years of biking.
Overall this is a really comfy jacket, however there’s a few issues over the figment. I’m a size Large and this jacket is a bit on the small side for that, being a bit tight on the belly isn’t bad but where it gets uncomfortable is the armpit area is quite tight and the collar at the rear rubs a fair bit especially if your angle on your bike is leant forward, adventure bikers won’t notice this this but naked an especially sport bikes this could be an issue. Other then the sizing the armour feels great, there’s really nice ventilation and I even wear an XL hoody over mine and it fits great
Like all Knox products the quality and materials are top shelf and the fit is spot on…almost. This is meant to be an under shirt right? I have the original Urbane pro and the sleeves are snug, but have loads of stretch. They’ll fit under anything. The MK3 sleeves are HUGE. Admittedly my arms are not the most muscular, but the extra bulk in the sleeves is almost comical. The Knox Honister is the same. I’m not sure why Knox have changed the fit the way they have, but I’m pretty sure not everyone is a bodybuilder. All review talk about the revised fit. If this is what they mean, I don’t think it’s a good development. In the body it’s the same and the improved safety rating over the original is great, but when the point is for the armour to stay in place, this is a miss for me.
Really comfortable, easy to fit under other clothes and I feel well protected. Bit fiddly getting the belt connected with my trousers and the shirt but nothing major. Had to add a couple of extra loops to the thumb loops as it was cutting the circulation to my thumbs but that a fault of my long arms not the shirt ! Ridden around 300 miles with it now and it gets more comfortable the more it’s worn.
This piece of clothing gives a level of flexibility which reduces the amount of different jackets bought.
Can be worn as a top layer when the warm weather allows and gives nice ventilation with a certain level of armour and protection but can also be used as a mid layer with a hoodie or normal casual jacket worn on top.
Excellent quality and purchased after advice from the amazing staff at sports bike shop Milton Keynes.
Fits perfectly and so breathable during these recent hot days in the UK
This jacket is exactly what I was after. I can wear it under an mx jersey or regular clothes and still be well protected. Folds up small enough to fit in a back pack so you’re not stuck in safety gear when you arrive at your destination
I love the mesh, the venting is very useful, but the armor have not much space for the air going through
