I ride all year round. Sometimes, I don't always feel like washing my bike in the winter when I get home so I'll use 3 or 4 of these and give it a wipe over to get the worst of the winter roads grime off the bike before I get the opportunity to give it a good & proper clean.
Does the job nicely.

These seem to do a good job at removing splashes from the chain. Also good for removing stuff accidentally on the carpet.
