Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

After trying different clothing systems for adventure and trail riding over the last 5 years, I found that layering works best for me, as I can quickly adjust it to the changing conditions. With trousers, I normally wear merino base layer leggings, knee braces, and these trousers to provide abrasion resistance. If the weather get's bad, I put waterproof over-trousers on top of these.
Over the last 16 months, I found these trousers to be great for dry weather above 12°C. When riding technical trails, I'm normally very warm, so having trousers with mesh panels really helps with cooling down, especially during sections between the trails, where the speed is higher and I can get some air flow. If I I have to ride on a motorway for over an hour and the temperature is below 16°C, then I normally put waterproof trousers on top of these, just to stop the wind / chill.
I like the fact that these are in-the-boot trousers and this is very useful for technical trails where you don't want your pants to get caught on things. They also have enough room to accommodate knee braces, which is a must have for me.
They are Class A certified for abrasion resistance, which is not great if you have to spend a lot of time on the motorway. However, I'm prepared to take it easy on the tarmac, to get offroad benefits that these pants offer.
I wish there was a in system from Revit to connect these pants to the Territory jacket, to keep the two garments connected on the back. Plenty of road gear has this, so not sure why they don't include the zips in the more offroad orientated clothing.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and I'd buy them again.
Love these. Good fit and same sizing as other Rev It gear.
Very comfortable, breathable and with the benefit of a bit of abrasion resistance for any road sections.
Handy leg pockets for some basic items.
The armour seems a bit of an after thought and waste of time and my thinking is that the majority of people who would be wearing these would be wearing dedicated knee braces/ knee armour. I took the knee armour out but left the hip ones in.
So far I really like these trousers. Hopefully they are hard wearing and last long enough to warrant the high price.
